Cliff Notes:
-I'm moving to the South Side on Lamar in Dallas
-I'm super excited.

I know im probably late to the party being 21 in a few months, but I put the deposit, application fee, and admin fees down. My application was approved. And My future room mate and I will be moving into our 1400ft/sq Dallas flat no later than march 1st!

Its at a building called the South Side on Lamar, its an old sears train station that has been completely renovated (the largest warehouse to residence conversion in the nation) and has Lofts, Clubs, Art Galleries, Shops, Restaurants, a grocery store EVERYTHING with in the complex. It has a big rooftop pool and a bunch of picnic tables and grills on the roof with a great view of the Dallas Skyline. and they are in the process of building a roof top garden!

And we got a Basement loft! so we are paying LESS that $1 per ft/sq and we have 30 foot ceilings and they told us we can be as loud as we want because the only wall we share with another room is the Absinthe Lounge which is a late night club so it doesn't really matter.

I'm extremely excited and I'm sure y'all don't really care, but i am pumped and if i don't vent my excitement somewhere i will explode.

And now for the low quality pics i snapped on the fly

so you and a roommate are paying somewhere around 1300 a month for a studio apartment/efficiency?
next to a night club?
in a basement in the ghetto?

Way to piss on his achievement, asses! :nutkick: :D

Congrats! I'm moving in with the fiance in March as well, I'm still narrowing down apartments but I think I've got a top contender.

congrats dude, it's a big step towards adulthood.

now, go have sex with your future roommate. it will help to avoid any awkward moments in the future.

the construction is really solid. Idk how much sound will penetrate a couple feet of concrete.

its not really that ghetto. Plus literally right across the street is the Dallas Police Headquarters

1400 for a ONE ROOM apartment

Its one big ass room.
and your both wrong only $1000 with an industrial rate on electricity. so maybe 1070-1100 total with bills

which is ridiculous considering the other one we looked at was 1150 for 800ft/sq

And I know i could pay less for a real apartment. but its not the same.

My room mate and I are both audio engineers working to start a record label, and I am a performing musician.so considering that this is a hot spot for the arts, the people I could run into and the fact that 2 of the venues we work with are located on premises makes it totally worth it.

you could always setup curtains or something to separate rooms.. so your roomie cant see your ass sticking up in the air

We are already planning on setting up partitions.

I could care less if he heard or saw me. I have put on shows before :shrug2:

congrats. If you're happy that's all that matters. Don't listen to these aholes, no matter how funny they are. lol

Congratulations man.

Good luck sharing a single room with another dude. I had to pay for that in college one year, and that was enough for me.
