Hello, I'm in the market for a hydro GSR trans and if you're in the Chicagoland area even better. Let me know if you're looking to sell, thanks guys. Oh I can also use mounts and conversions for this trans into an EF.

Check out a JDM vendor. There are a lot of worn out USDM B-series transmissions out there and you might be better off talking to some who sells JDM drivetrains so you can get some peace of mind and the option to send it back if it grinds or pops out.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm going to look into it.

so i have a 95 civic dx...gunna do a k20a3 swap soon...wanted some thoughts on which tranny to aim for?...

I suggest you google "K Series transmissions" and check out a K series forum, that way you can decide what will work best for you. It also helps if you post what you want to do with the car, silly thread jacker.

if you dont mind me asking, y dont you just use a cable trans? i actually saw a gsr cable trans for sale in this forum recently, if you really want to stick with hyrdo in a ef, hasport makes a kit

Cable GSR (B17A) is less common and higher probability of being worn out simply becaus it is flippin' old and kinda rare in the states. But you are right about the cable transmission part of it. Cable B16 transmissions are more in abundance and cheaper.

I have been told the costs for rebuilding it yourself is over $800 in parts.

You can get a JDM LSD or non-LSD transmission from hmotosronline but they're in CA and shipping costs might be high

I'm aware that Hasport makes B into EF hydro mounts and conversion kits for this but that would end up costing me around 500 dollars or so to buy new, that's why I posted what I did. I've found some mounts/conversion "kits" for half that but they're used.

Yep, it costs a pretty penny to rebuild it yourself not to mention I don't know how to do it. I'd be paying a mint in parts and then quite a bit for labor as well.

I just tried to check out hmotorsportsonline.com and it seems they don't exist. Google isn't bringing anything up either =/

well i guess in my area its a little different, b series trans are relatively abundant hydro or cable in this area, only took me 2 hours to find one when my original trans exploded, good luck finding what youre looking for!

hmotorsonline.com

I mis-spelled it earlier....sorry

They dont seem to have any cable transmissions but you can call and ask. Click 'motor mall' and then click 'whats new' check out 92-95 Civics and you'll see it
Non-LSD Y21 (aka b16) is $750
LSD Y21 is $850

Wait, i'm confused... why are you looking for a hydro tranny if you don't want to buy the hydro conversion kit to put this in an EF?

Read the thread again lol. I want to buy a hydro tranny and a hydro B series tranny into EF conversion. However, I also posted that I knew that Hasport makes a kit but I don't feel like buying it new from Hasport because that will cost me about $500 versus buying it used for the price range of $250-$350 from what I've seen. I'm not sure how you misunderstood.

I misunderstood because i'm stupid lol. I didn't see in your original post that you also wanted the hydro conversion kit.

Honestly, a lot of people don't even like the HaSport conversion... Look into the Innovative kit... They have two different actuators though. If you go with their more expensive actuator, it shouldn't cost you more than $325 or so.
