Hi all,

I'm swapping a B18C4 from a 2000 Civic MB6 into my 2000 EJ9 Civic (both obd2b I think), been doing some research into it and it seems I have a few options on which parts to use, just wanted to ask a few questions about them:

Loom
- EK4/EK9 loom
- Use current EJ9 loom and wire in VTEC - How hard is this to do and does anybody know of a DIY on this?

ECU
-
JDM Si/GSR P72 - Will this cause problems as the B18C is 180 bhp and my B18C4 is 170?
- Chipped P28/P30 with obd2 -> obd1 conversion harness

Engine Mounts
- B series mounts from EK4/EK9/EM1- which mount do I need as I understand I don't need them all?

Shift Linkage
Will the MB6 gear linkage fit?

Idealy I would like to use the current wiring loom, wire in the vtec and use the MB6 ECU however it has an immobiliser which will only correspond with the key that came with the car, what do I have to swap over for this to work?

Thanks in advance

A 2000 Civic is an EK not a MB6 and there is no B18C4 only B18C1/GSR and B18C5/TypeR. Also no Civic's came with a B18 of any kind only D series and B16A motors. For wiring use the stock harness that is in your car and add Vtec wiring, go to FF-squad.com for all your wiring needs, great website for wiring. As for the ECU I would go with a P28 and Hondata. 2000+ ECU's have the immobilizer and your car wont start unless you have the ECU reflashed for your car's immobilizer. Shift linkage you can use a 94-01 Integra or 99-00 Civic Si. For engine mounts you will reuse all stock rubber from your car, you need a 99-00 Si rear mount bracket and 99-00 Si timing belt side bracket (the one by the timing belt. Use your cars trans mount bracker just swap it over to the B series trans. You will also need a new throttle cable for what ever motor you use.

Never once have I ever heard of or seen a B18C4. I have been into Hondas since a B series motor swap was considered hard to do. There is a lot of incorrect info out there. Look at Honda OEM parts, try to find anything for a B18C4, it just is not out there. Honda only made 2 B18 Vtec motors the B18C1/GSR and the B18C5/B18C Type R. And no Civic chassis ever came with a form of the B18, only D16 and B16. There is a high demand for Vtec motors. If these B18C3/4/6/7 motor are out there then dont you think engine importers (we all know the many ones out there) would be selling these also.

Are you saying they don't exist? LOL.. Since B series swaps were hard to do? Don't consider yourself an expert by any means. Google the B18C4; it is very real. I have heard of and seen them. People don't import EDM motors because JDM motors are so much more readily available and cheaper. You crack me up man.. lmao

Yeah swapping a b18c into a 92 hatch was not always as easy as it is today. Back in the mid 90s we did not have all the info and parts we have today.

It is out there, seen em in person, driven one. The reason you don't see them is that getting motors from Europe is a lot more expensive than Japan, and they are a lot harder to find.
