FULLERTON, CA (Oct. 21, 2010) – Due to continued increases in the cost of raw materials, manufacturing and transportation-related expenses, Yokohama Tire Corporation announced it will increase prices by up to 8% on all of its consumer tires, which include passenger, performance and light truck tires. The increase will go into effect December 1, 2010. There will be in-line adjustments, as well, which will be announced at a later date.


I imagine other mfg's will follow suit.
 
Just picked up a set of Bridgestone RE760's for my dd. Mounted, balanced, and aligned for $415 otd. Pays to have connections:)
 
dammit, the last set of all terrain yokos i bought for my truck was right at $800 mounted and balanced... thats high enough!
 
Expect anything that requires rubber to go up. I have bungie cord made for one of our products lines (run my own rope and cord business) and we just had a increase on it due to the cost of rubber going up.
 
I haven't heard anyone complain....

I wonder if Taiwan/China are working on importing knockoffs yet. Are compounds patented?
 
Had to get new fronts on my truck.. a year ago I paid 100 for 2 rears.. they wanted 150 for the same tires, same place

The increase will go into effect March 1. There will be in-line adjustments, as well, which will be announced at a later date.

“The price increase is due to the continued escalation of raw materials, as well as other costs associated with the manufacturing and transportation of consumer tires,” said Shawn Denlein, Yokohama director of sales, Consumer Products. “We will continue to concentrate on utilizing the latest technologies and operational procedures to produce the best products at competitive prices.”
