They already have satellites that can track people by the ebw activity(electronic brain wave).
*Puts back on foil hat.*

Brings a whole new level to speed enforced by aircraft

oh man!
im super fucking excited.
so happy they are finally taking rights away from us.
who needs so many rights anyway? the constitution was meant to be a joke, not something to live by. cant believe we didnt find that out sooner.
let the illegal searches, and the stalking of our citizens begin! i cannot wait.

sweet.

/sarcasm.

this will do jack shit for national security.
its a bullshit reason so they can spy on anybody.
$20 bucks says these things are eventually outfitted with some kind of xray system to actually see into peoples homes.
just like the vans they already have.

"HPD says it will tackle privacy and illegal search issues later, ..."

LOL, yea, don't let our fucking rights get in the way of your police state progress fuckers.

In other words, they plan to wait until a judge orders them to cease and desist... this will be after they spend outrageous amounts of money on the program.

People are too big of pussies and enjoy their pathetic day to day lives too much ever start a Civil war.

Meh, who cares. There are other more important things to worry about.

I'm not doing anything illegal, so I don't give a shit if HPD wants to watch me.

Just opens up more and more cans of worms for more and more crap.

Maybe one day everyone will do the speed limit to a T since anyone going over will get a instant ticket from the sky.

Who knows....

But where is the line between legal and illegal? Every day in every county, state and nation wide more and more laws are being created in the dead of night. Essentially creating a city, county and country of perpetual law breakers. Its the same line of thought that got the Patriot Act passed. What happens when they want to pull folks over in black SUVs to check for explosives because thats what was used in Time Square?

Know why there are speed limits in the first place? Because there are tons of jackasses out there who can't drive worth a fuck, think they can, and want to play Michael fucking Schumacher out on the interstate - and smash into a carfull of pregnant nuns and kill them. If everyone would just know their capabilities (for lack of a better word) and stay within them, there wouldn't be a NEED for speed limits in the first place - or most of the other laws that we have. Every law we have is there because some jackass couldn't keep his hands to himself or shut the fuck up.

There are laws in place because there is a need for them to be. Maybe YOU aren't the reason, but someone is. Just like pollution, or dying rainforests, or homeless kitties...if you don't want to feel some 'overspray' of necessary enforcement, get out yourself and do something to HELP instead of just bitching about it.

If you aren't doing anything to proactively better the situation, then you don't have any right to complain about it. Which is precisely why I'm not complaining.

That's pretty sad. That you are willing to ignore the encroachment by the police state because other people break the law. Don't you care about YOUR rights?

But what happens when the current, legal activities you engage in become illegal?

There is already a supposed class action suit being filed because of this. I don't live in Houston, but I have friends that do and they are getting in on it, but the suit will only possibly win IF this drone program actually goes through, which as of right now, its not looking like it will.

It will go through if DHS says its a joint task force to combat potential classified threats against the Houston area... Slapping the terrorism label on things tends to get it done.

Threat of what? It would be different if houston was closer to the Mexican border, or less than 2 - 3 hours away from the gulf. I just can't see stamping "terrorism" on it for legitimate reasons because there aren't any.
