I'm wanting to road race/ auto-x my eg hatch this season, but still dd it, it has a full tein suspension, blox camber kits with competition ball joints, and blox lca's for the suspension, stock brakes, and a pretty much stock ls/vtec with hasport mounts. im just wondering what your setups are and looking for suggestions for mine... thanks!

94 del sol vtec with B18C (ctr pistons and blox hsl cams). Using a KAAZ clutch type LSD in the trans with a 4.7 FD. ACT clutch stock type R flywheel. Stock GSR brakes with Hawk DTC pads. Motul fluid and 15/16 MC. JRZ RS dampers with 900 fr and 800 rr springs. ITR rear sway bar with adjustable endlinks. Blox rear camber kit and skunk2 front camber kit. All rubber bushings are now spherical bearings. Hankook C51 tires for now, will probably switch to C71 after I get the suspension dialed in. Link to my build is in my sig.

Which Tiens are you using?

Get rid of all your rubber joints. Get sway bars. Adjust as necessary

sphericals arent the best for daily though are they? or am i mistaken?

yeah ive looked all through your build and love it, im just running tein basic dampers though, what sway bars would you suggest for cheap?

Don't DD on sphericals, go Deralin. Get any brand 22 or 23mm sway. Get a subframe re-enforcement plate as well.

sorry for the probably noob questions lol but where would you find deralin? and as in subframe reinforcement do you mean like a beaks tie bar?

Deralin you gotta machine it yourself I think.

Something like the comptech brace. I think ASR makes a replica.

what about an energy suspension master kit? i know theres one piece you shouldnt use if i remember correctly because of snapback oversteer? or is that with sphericals? ill look into the braces and sway bars, is there any factory upgrades i could use? or is it mostly aftermarket?

i guess im just different. used to daily on full coilovers set to hard. soft grippy tires. full sphericals. car felt like a skateboard on the road and track. i like feeling connected.

Poly deforms farily quickly and doesn't come back to shape after a short period of time. You don't want to poly the RTA bushing.

Factory upgrade would be an ITR subframe in the rear. Otherwise use aftermarket subframe bracing. I'm using a beaks mounting kit for my rear sway bar. I've "heard" you can still get tearout from it. I've been using it for years without an issue.

Problem with sphericals on a DD car is the bearings wear out quicker. On a race car you're supposed to replace them every 2-3 years of track only driving.

I think they're just more prone to accelerated wear from debris. I know Evos(at least 9MRs) have sphericals in the rear, stock.

IMO, best alternative are the hard-rubber bushings from Hardrace. They're similar to Mugen bushings, but cheaper.

What component of the evo9 has sphericals? None that I'm aware of. I know for a fact not on an 8 since I own one.

Hardrace is a good choice.

I know for a fact, rear LCA(I think we were replacing broken wheel studs(not my fault; somebody torqued the lug nuts without aligning the wheels) and took the LCA/shock off for more room when I noticed it). I didn't really look at everything else back there but I do know for sure the LCA was spherical. I can probably check later today though.

wow, you're right. Even on the 8 they are spherical. Only the shock mounting bushing is rubber. Which is the only component i've removed.

ill check out hardrace, i was researching scca rules last night and i have to start out in the street mod class! oh well, more of a challenge i guess.

and is there any bigger factory sway bars that will work on my car?

88-91? If so, 92-93 Integra GSR(which is what I have on my Civic). IIRC, they're 23mm hollow. Next biggest is 22mm hollow from that generation Integra also, but I believe it's about as strong as the 19mm solid.

Yup spherical. And im well aware of how long they last. I spent Atleast a G on suspension and bushes every year.
