new to the site and messing with honda's. i had a 90 integra for years that never gave me much trouble. damn i miss that car, but thats another story.

i recently bought a 91 si hatch with an 88 crx hf engine. i think its a d15b6? the car is in descent shape, no rust or bad body damage, descent interior. love the car! it runs pretty good, but its lacking power! im wanting to put a motor in that will get the car out of its own way. im not looking to make a race car here, i just need advice on what engine will be a no hassle swap and give me some much needed power.

thanks in advance!

put a 91 d16a6 in it with a few mods and you will be happy. And very easy to do. or you can go the b-series route but more expensive..

I honestly would spend the extra time and money , which isnt much more and go b-series, alot more fun, alot more power, u cant beat it and its a fairly easy swap

thanks for the reply's guys. money is tight, and i just want the swap to be as easy and budget friendly as possible. with the d16a6 i can use the same trans, correct?

yeah the dohc zc is another great motor and drops right in and uses your trans. any d-series trans will adapte to and d motor

well said, and they are both obd0 I believe so there will be no wiring problems, and I dont knw your area but here in atlanta they import the DOHC zc's at NAD AUTO for 650 with trans intake, dizzy and everything, drop right in, plug and play lol

The only bad thing is the HF trans has really long gears and will slow down the different motor. It is geared for better gas mileage. And if you do get the ZC dohc you will have to rewire the distributor plugs cause they are different and you will have to move wires out of the distributor plug to the external cam sensor.

thanks for pointing that one out, totally wasnt thinking of that one, but still its a fairly easy wiring job, and plenty of forums to show how to do it

im not sure its an hf trans?? the impression i got from the seller was just the motor was swapped?? guess i should verify what trans is in the car now.

thanks for the links dilbeckskate!
