My engine in my prelude recently brpke a rod and i need to replace it. I have been on all sorts of websites tryin to get all the facts. I am so confused i dont know what to do! Could someone point in the right direction as in which motor i should use? I would like to have a good solid engine that is not going to blow up on me and also can handle a turbo setup. Also could anyone tell me the best and worse websites for used motors? and should i avoid motors on ebay? In closing HELP!!!!!! lol

tiger japanese is a good place to get engines and some of the company on ebay are not bad just do ur research
what motor is in it now f22 or h22

What kind of money do you have?

you could look for a h23 to replace yours or you could look for a f22 to drop in or you could look into putting a h22 into it...

I got about 700.00 to spend on a motor. Found a couple h22 vtecs on ebay for around that but i am concerned that they arent that great cause they are cheap. I was going to put in a f22b dohc. But everyone says go with the h22 vtec. MY lude has 220,000 miles on it so i can imagine that is the original engine in it. I also have read on other forums that tiger japanese isnt a good company but everyone has their own opinion. How much boost can stock engine handle?

i have the same car go h22 very easy swap and works good and it's a direct replacement from the h23nothing different but the 2 wires for vtec

Dude with your 700 dollar spending budget, buy another b20, and do a good i/h/e , and blam all your money is gone, with the 700 dollar budget your not going to get a H22 or 23 and the swap mounts and everything to do it

To my knowledge the 93 didn't have the B20 thought those stopped in 91 or 92..

I personally like them myself, esp the 92-96 ludes, but i know for a fact my rex will stomp ones ass lol all im saying they were very advanced "looking" cars at the time when they came out

yea you are right about that... i like the look of the 92-96 but hate everything else!

I think the 97 on up ludes are fricken ugly. The headlights they put on there are awful!!! But you got to love designers that decide to change shit to help it sell. I believe if you get a design that everyone likes run with it dont change it!!!
