My D15B2 in my 1991 sedan needs to be replaced. I don't want to do a swap unless I just can't find a good replacement engine.

Come on, somebody has to have one after their swap was done !!

I think a B7 Del Sol will work too. I would buy the entire engine with intake and electrics and consider the mpfi swap later. But right now I just want a good engine for my car. I plan to stay dpfi right now and just get a lower mileage motor in the car.

Thank

Alex

Well there are plenty of d-series engines out there, literally everywhere, id at least bump up to a D16 though, craigslist it up, I mean literally anywhere where people are wrecking or swapping hondas there are d series engines for cheap lol

If your intake manifold and its electronics are still good, you could swap it over onto another D15 engine and stay DPFI.

People SAY there are D15 engines,,but I am having trouble finding one. Have checked junk yards and Honda salvage yards. Haven't come up with one yet. Just need a short block. My engine is running but using oil and has 280K miles. Also needs a clutch so I need to find an engine and do all the work at once.

Thank y'all and a lead on a good engine would be appreciated.

theres a d15 engine under the hood of your car ! rebuild it

Exactly get on ebay they have complete rebuild kits for 200-300 and thats everything that is replaceable in a motor. then get a cheap clutch for 100 and you got a fresh motor..

I have looked at the rebuild kits,,checked with my mechanic and he told me that I would be looking at approximately $700 in machine work to assure that a rebuild would be worth it. Crank journals, rod ends, head decking ect.

May still go that route but I'd rather find a sub 200K motor. I have other work to do on the car and I don't want to end up with $5000 invested in a $2000 car. lol Altho I am well on the way after suspension work, exhaust, belts, hoses, and well y'all know the story!!

dude slacks auto parts machined and cleaned the fuckkk out of my b18b block for 50 bucks per cylinder

beggars can't be choosers, found one were I live, he never specified were I needed to fine one lol

Get a D16 then and use that.

Or if you can wait a bit, just buy another engine from Hmotors or something. The MPFI conversion isn't bad at all.

Found this listing at got-jdm.com jdm engines, japanese imported engines, skunk2 products, skunk2 racing, koyo aluminum radiators at wholeasale prices

92-95 JDM D15B SOHC VTEC OBD-1 ENGINE LONG BLOCK HONDA CIVIC $750.00

Does anyone have any experience with this company? I know shipping will be involved too, but how much will I end up spending on ECU and wiring harness? Is this a reasonably easy swap to do? I know the motor will fit, but will things like the alternator, power steering pump, and AC compressor have to be changed?

Thank y'all again for the help !!

dude go d16 seriously, you can get a d16 for just as cheap !!!! its around a 50 hp gain dude seriously, you will never get anything powerful out of the d15 its a POS

That JDM D15B you posted up is pretty much like a D16Z6. I'm going to assume it's more work than you want to do(need P08 ECU, OBD1 conversion harness, MPFI conversion, etc.)

As stated before, look into a D15B7 out of a 92-95 Civic or 93-97 Del Sol, and just reuse the DPFI manifold and distributor from the original car.
