Well, 2011 is bringing us a CBR250R and CBR250R w/ABS
maybe not news to your guys, but news to me

I should trade this RC51 in on one of those jobs for commuting.

Single cylinder with 359lb curb weight....
then again, maybe not.

if i had to choose today, i would probably try to snag a 2009 ninja for $3000 used.

i had a 2006 ninja and rode it for a year. great bike, but ugly as hell. with the new updates, the new 250 is gorgeous.

Ehhh... I honestly prefer the Ninja. I've been looking into a 250 "Sport" bike. I like the style of the 08+ Ninja. It looks pretty aggressive, more modern than they have for the past 20 years, and I get the feeling it'd be fun as hell to ride. I've had my eye on this one:

This CBR looks a little too goofy shaped for me. I think dual head lights would have done a shit ton of good.

At that note, I'm really excited to see where sport bikes are going to go from here, because I can't think of much that would make them cooler. Single sided swing arm is the biggest thing I think I could ask for.

I think I'm going to take advantage of the availability of the used Ninjas, and that's probably what I'll end up getting. It won't stop me from trying to test ride one of these though.

Edit: Honda is using a single cylinder motor, and fuel capacity is 1 gallon less, despite the tank looking larger than the Ninja's. I get the feeling Honda is doing it wrong.

you fucking hypocrite!

i will always love my 600rr and the honda motor it has.
but this 250 is no where near the ninja 2011 250 engine specs.

i would go for a used hyosung gt250r

his beard will cause too much aero interference for him to ever get into 6th gear on a 250 anyway.....

Honda has had small-displacement motorcycles everywhere but the US for a long time. This isn't really news with the price of gas going up.

5-speed on a 250 is fine. I wouldn't want to be on the highway on a 250 anyway, there won't be much above 100mph, and if you've ever ridden a sportsbike on a highway you'll understand how important the 60-100mph ET is when a tractor-trailor pulls out in front of you or cuts you off.

It's a commuter bike, with a bit of twisties on the weekends. It's not intended to be a superfastracerbike, it's a fuckin' 250 gas-saver. 250 single cylinder is about as small as I'd go in the US anyway.

I expect them to be pretty much equal with power, and if I wanna donate my organs I'll ride my sportster, but I think I'd prefer the Ninja still.

i'd prefer the ninja twin cylinder
i had one back in the day and had a blast on it
but that was a few pounds ago, but the bike was also wooped on as a drug mule to and from nyc

hopefully this warm weather keeps up so i can move this RC51 before i kill myself on it

is it 70 degrees with no humidity like Arkansas right now? yea im not missing New york yet...
