i heard estimates as high as 5 million
should have shorted at&t

What's going to be funny is the network there is going to suck too. Can't access data and voice simultaneously.

All US carriers ABSOLUTELY suck. Is there any point to have some super advanced phone when the network to support such a device does not exist?

I've never once had a reason to use both talk and data at the same time, the most digging I've ever done while talking on the phone is looking at my contacts list to pass along a phone #

I don't see this being all that big of a deal. It's too late. Android is already firmly in place. Thankfully people are starting to open their eyes even the Iphone fanboys are (some of them) willing to say that a lot of the phones are now all on the same level.

i was actually just thinking about this the other day... and realized when this ability would be nice to have
i am currently on Verizon
i have the Samsung Alias
pr_samsung_alias_f.jpg

its not a smartphone, mostly just a messaging phone, but it does have VZNav on it...
now when im driving somewhere and using VZNav that is all i can use... if i get a phone call or text message i get a notification and the option to either ignore it, or suspend VZNav, take the call or read the message, then go back to VZNav... but i can not take the call while still using VZNav
not a big deal when the exit or turn is several miles away... but when turns are coming up more quickly it can kinda suck
sure i could just get a real GPS and stop using my phone... but i like the convenience of it being right there in my phone when i want or need it

Wow E, you are the first person I've ever heard of that use VZNav lol.

google maps FTMFW!

You do make a good point, that's the first thing anyone said that makes sense. I'm tired of hearing about how someone could be talking to their friend and need to know movie times so they surf the net and find the movie times while still on the phone....

How about I push the voice feature button and say, movie times for "city and state" then when it displays them I cut/paste the times into a txt message and send it to the person.

done.

i love having the ability to use data while im on a call. i use my bluetooth headset all the time, especially when in the office. being able to browse or send an email while im chatting with a client is a huge timesaver.
