The strangest thing is happening to me

Ive been getting constant calls from these strange phone numbers:

7188389202

9234346144

and

923434614416

Each time the phone rings, if i answer, the line goes dead... if I let it ring and voicemail picks up, the line also goes dead and no message is left.

I try and call these numbers back, but when i dial the 718 number, it just redirects to my voicemail.

The other two numbers give me error’s when i try and call them.

I’ve also gotten random calls from various working numbers - the people are telling me I called them, when I didnt. This happened a few days ago on Sunday and also on Saturday.

Would someone mind trying these numbers and telling me what happens? This is the weirdest thing ever.

I get that from time to time. Not from those particular numbers, but the exact same thing happens.

I get calls from 'unknown', 'blocked', or 'anonymous' numbers, too - and the same thing happens - dead line if I answer.

Fuckin' weird.

edit: the 718 number rang twice, then went to a busy signal. iPhone shows it as a NY, USA number.
The 923 number says 'your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please check the number and try again'.

A quick Google search shows that 923 isn't a valid area code in the US. Poking around and it seems that it's some sort of middle eastern number.

Fuckin' weird.

Caller ID can be spoofed by anyone and they're probably just random numbers. 99% of the time it's an automated telemarketing computer checking to see if your line is active. If you answer, they know it's a marketable line.

I agree- it's probably someone that has a caller id faker app installed on their phone. Get a call blocker app and tell it to ignore those numbers and problem is solved.

I don't know if you can do that or not- I haven't ever tried the app myself. All I know is one day a few months ago- ramdom members of my family kept calling me and asking me if I had called them, and I checked my call log to be sure I had not butt-dialed them, and I had not. Later that day they were all calling me back asking why I just called them and asked me to call them right back- but I had never called them. I think it was one of my brothers that was doing it- but I never got them to confess.

Adroid has a app called spoof, it lets you put any number in and call someone..

Hmm. Well my phone wont do apps, so thats out. Also, the numbers will call frequently in succession - probably an autodialer like some of you have suggested.

I havent been using it in a while. When i have google voice call the 718 number, it starts ringing and then i have an incoming call from my own GV number lol.
