Nashville using unmarked SUVs to find texters - WKRN, Nashville, Tennessee News, Weather and Sports |

spend money on vehicles for the purpose of driving around and looking into other cars. :clapping:

That's dumb. They got SUV's to be able to see inside people cars to see if they are texting... Ok so what are they going to get to be able to see inside SUV's to see if THEY are texting?

We have had SUV city cops and highway patrol for years around here, but last year we atarted seeing full size pickups unmarked pulling people over also. I guess the more they spend, the more tickets they can write, and the more tickets they write, the more they can spend.

Do you live in Nashville?

Welfare, food stamps. Except in cases where it is legitimately needed which is probably rare. I am talking more about the people who do not want to work and pop out another kid to collect more.

yeah, i live in nashville.
i see this system getting abused.
all they have to do now to pull someone over is say that they thought they saw them texting, and boom, they have the right to pull them over.

they already have suv's in nashville and the surrounding county. they are just using this as a bullshit reason to buy more without public outcry because they cant afford to actually do shit there.

What part of nashville.. My grandma lived outside of nashville for close to 15-20 years.. I was always down there...

well, i actually live in franklin, its about 20min south of nashville.
but, if you're from here, its all referred to as nashville.

I've heard of Franklin, I believe my grandma lived in Ashland city..

My husband was born and raised in Nashville. Old Hickory area. Lived there for 22 years.

thats where i was raised until i was about 15. we moved to antioch, then i ended up in franklin.
he live in the village? or around lakewood?

yeah, but we can only legally have 35%. which is pretty see through.
anything lower and they can pull you over and have probable cause for searching you as well.

NJ you can't have anything on the front windows unless you have a permit. Luckily, I have it.

Next time you drive passed a road work site at night, take a look. There are 5 guys working and 15 standing around collecting overtime.

Hmm... I dunno? His mom lived on Tusculum and his grandmother on Cherrywood... Does that help?

I have always wondered why they do not scale the welfare system in terms of benifits? For example as I understand it they pay you a certain percentage of what your normal salary was. I say do that for 3 months then it starts to decrease every week until it gets to be slightly below minimum wage. That takes care of all of the slackers who refuse to go out and get a job because they make the same amount sitting at home.

Fixing food stamps in place would be a simple fix in theory. You have x items that are allowed to be purchased on food stamps. That money is placed on debit/credit card. You go to the store and swipe your debit card at the beginning of checking out to let the system know you are on food stamps. Then as the cashier is checking you out the system lets the cashier know if your item is eligible or not to be purchased with your food stamp debit card. If the item is not eligible it is taken out of your cart. Obviously you can pay cash for that item if you still want it. Yes it might take a little longer at the supermarket but then they would need to open one of the 10 closed lanes which would require another check out person which would mean that we are then helping employ more workers.

I know it is way over simplified and too "easy" of a solution but at least it is an idea.

Same here in MD. I figure I can get away with 30%. Most of my friends roll around with 20 or lower and never get bothered.
