more pics: Omani Royal Family Takes Delivery Of New Koenigsegg Agera R Supercar - MotorAuthority

Koenigsegg Agera R supercar
910 horsepower
811 pound-feet of torque
2,832lbs (regular model, no weight figures in for the R model... probably 100-ish lighter i would guess)

power figures aren't THAT impressive, but you have to remember that the veyron weighs in at over 4500 lbs or something ridiculous like that.

I'm curious to see it go around top gear's track.
BBC - Top Gear - Power Laps

1:16 in it?

speaking of top gear, SEASON 16 started tonight! watching that in a bit :D

I think the Ultima GTR still has the record on Top Gear though I don't think it was an official Top Gear run.
Edit: NVM! Caparo T1 has the record at 1:10, with the Ultima GTR(720) at 1:12.....with the Veyron at 1:16 I'd hope it's just as fast. Though, to be honest I'm pretty sure it's heavier than every other car that runs around the same time.

I'm going to guess it runs low 1:15s since the CCX is heavier and has a little less power. The CCX ran 1:17 and has ~100 less horses and 500lb fatter.

caparo and ultima don't count because they are not street legal cars. hell, the atom pushes it IMO. it's a go kart. :shrug2:

they didn't count on the leaderboard because they couldn't go over a speed bump

correct...
the Ultima was set up in a configutarion that made it too low to meet the shows speed bump standard
the Caparo was a pre production model that was not equipped with the electronic height adjustable suspension, and again was too low for the speed bump test

and since we are covering cars that didnt pass the standard... the FXX didnt qualify because it ran its time on slicks... its also not a road legal car

Kit cars don't count as well, IRRC, and thus the factory5 cars don't count, nor does the ultima GTR.
They test PRODUCTION cars you can buy via a dealership.

They specifically reviewed/tested the Caparo T1 and in that episode the runner up was the CCX IIRC... But yeah it was DQ'd for the ride height...but if it's still street legal, it should count(since we're covering "fastest car")

the Ultima GTR is available in both turn key production models as well as a build at home kit
they sell both ways direct to clients... no dealerships
not that having a dealership has anything at all to do with whether or not it is a production car

Was the Gumpert they tracked an S or a standard Apollo...?

I remember the episode, but I can't recall if it was before the S was available

What about the Hennessey venom gt? An all round awesome looking car that has some serious specs to back it up.
1200 Hp @ 6500rpm
1155 Tq @ 4200rpm
Curb weight 2685lbs (mfr's estimate)
Hennessey claims 0-60 in 2.5, 1/4 mile in 9.95 @ 163mph

Above specs taken from the february '11 road and track.

I think that falls out of production as well. it's an aftermarket upgrade.

there's never been a henessy, calloway, ligenfelter, etc etc vette/viper/whatever around the track for an official time IIRC.

Besides, Hennessey will probably just try to fuck someone over................. lol

the venom GT is not an upgrade

you cant send your lotus exige to hennessey and have them do a "venom gt" upgrade on it... it is their own limited run car...
they wanted to make their own supercar... but they knew they didnt know shit about chassis design... so they went to Lotus for the chassis work and the rest of it is their own deal... they are making 10 of them per year and stopping at 29

Koenigsegg Agera R -- Autoblog

When the Geneva Motor Show kicks off this week, the Lamborghini Aventador won't be the only exotic sucking in journos like a tractor beam. The Koenigsegg Agera R is also making its global debut, wearing in a Speed Racer-inspired paint scheme (per the owner's request) and packing so much power that you'd think an R2 unit would be a better co-pilot than, say, Chim-Chim.

Now, about that power - the Agera R's 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 makes a ridiculous 1,115 horsepower and 885 lb-ft of torque on E85. Fill the tank with 95-octane gasoline instead of the biofuel, and figure on "only" around 940 horses and 811 lb-ft. The V8's connected to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The driver harnesses that power from a lavisly appointed cockpit that meets all the hypercar techno-fantasy criteria.

The Agera R's body panels are draped over a carbon fiber monocoque whose rigidity is such that a roof is not required. Hence, it's a removable panel that can be stowed inside the car. The owner of the example being displayed in Geneva is a skier, so the car is outfitted with a custom carbon fiber roof box developed in conjunction with Thule. It's a single-piece system that replaces the Agera R's standard roof entirely; when you get to the mountain, you simply swap the ski-box roof for the standard roof (which is tucked away in the cargo compartment).

Other highlights of the Koenigsegg Agera R include Vortex Generating Rim (VGR) wheels whose spokes act as turbine vanes that help maximize downforce. They're wrapped in Michelin rubber developed specifically for the Agera. Said tires are rated up to 260 mph, making them the highest-speed-rated tires in the world, according to Koenigsegg. As always, we'll have a full team in Geneva next week to bring you full details and a live look at the Agera R. In the meantime, check out the high-res image gallery below.

hot shit.

I thought the wheels were hot before, but seeing they also provide some incredible function makes them that much more awesome.
And that gauge cluster?
