I am soon going to be getting my brothers 92 civic si. I wanna set it up for rally racing. I don't know what suspension kit would be good for this. I know I'm gonna need a lot of suspension travel so I don't really want to lower the car much if at all. I do want something stiffer and stronger then the stock set up though. I have herd that the accord suspension parts will fit on the car but raise the heigth about an ince or so. Do you think it might work for me to get a kit made for the accord lowered around an inch and put that on? I am open to suggestion. Thanks for your time, and if you aren't gonna be helpful don't waste your time and mine replying.

Lmao, Civic and rally racing? Why did you choose a Civic? Front wheel, one wheel drive is not conducive to rallying...

That's not uncommon at all; you're more likely to see FWD cars rallying than RWD(VW, Peugeot, Renault, SEAT, Skoda, etc. come to mind). IIRC there was even a Civic(with B18C) that ran faster times than some WRXs.

KW has a rally background and may have kits for the Honda; I guess you can hit them up and see what they have. I've seen H&R used in some rally Hondas too. You do not necessarily want stiffer springs(compared to road course/autoX)); but rather something with a good progressive rate and longer stroke shocks. I'd say get springs or coilovers and adjust the preload so the shocks do not compress at all when the car is just sitting...stock shocks with different springs should have enough clearance for rally.

Really now? I'm assuming that they are running lsd's though right?

Wow those cars were hauling serious ass. I didn't realize that FWD was something anyone chose for rallying. I'd always thought that they were mostly all AWD.

If you are thinking WRC than AWD is right.

Just like most other motor sports there are a ton of classes and variations.

Chaz obviously didn't read this part of my post. By the way I do plan on adding a lsd.
K2e2vin thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out. I don't plan on keeping the stock shocks though, they won't hold up to that kind of abuse. Plus all the springs I find are for lowering.
Anyone who's wondering why I'm gonna be using a civic, it's because my brother is giving it to me for free. I'd rather use something with more torque which most honda's are lacking but this way is cheaper for now.

settle down children... dont make me turn this car around
