yep....mmhhm.......yep...
Hey, i am getting a nice tax return this year and will be splurging on a new r/c car. Now i have only driven 1/10 scale. I have seen some 1/8 scale buggies and they look like a lot of fun. So here are the choices that i have come up with. Mind you i have never driven either one of these but have researched them a lot. Both look durable and fun. Anyone ever have either one of these or know anyone who has/does.
A. THE XTM RAIL RTR BRUSHLESS 1/8
B. THE OFNA HYPER 10TT 4WD 1/10
C. YOU HAVE A BETTER IDEA

HPI anything.

Ofna is not bad but they can be a total PITA to get parts for. It's like the no name company of R/C cars.

Anyone want an Ofna Monster Pirate? I wouldn't mind moving it.

Ofna may bay the no name around your parts jeffie but there is actually a pretty good following up here, all the guys i used to race with all had hyper 7's including me and the hobby store we raced out of carried everythign for them. I guess you need to go with what your hobby store stocks a better selection of. If it were me personally I would stick with what I always have and run associated stuff. Also hpi is very good too, loved my old rs4 wish i never got rid of it. Now i have a tmaxx among all my old school tamiya stuff that i am refurbishing.

I like my Ofna and yes local stores do carry parts but it's nothing like traxxis or HPI Many make that almost every time I've had to leave a store and go online to find a part for my Ofna

Oh yeah traxxas and hpi definitely have a bigger following if i where to get another one i would want the hpi 1/4 scale buggy.

Its weird how the RC cycle went.

1/10 and 1/8th scale for many many years then as the tech world took off and things got smaller and smaller we saw tons of mini cars.

Go figure that popped and now we're going bigger. Seems like it should have went bigger before smaller.

Never messed with the 1/8 scale stuff, but I would have to go with the Losi 8ight-E, they come as a gas car but you can easily convert them over to electric if you wanted to go that route.

screw electric.

Only thing I enjoy about electric is if you race on an indoor course.

not totally true, electrics are less of a hassle if you have no patients. nitro requires some maintenance while electric ya just put a battery in and go. also with the new brushless motors and lipo batteries they are actually faster than most gas cars. All of my planes are electric I don't have a single nitro one anymore. I still have my nitro truck but rarely use it lol.

^:werd: Im running a 2s lipo and brushless setup in my XXX-CR and it really is a fun car to drive. I just like having to mess with carb setups every time I take it out.

I9 was looking at the losi. I have just about decieded to get a gas car that can be converted to electric......... I was out at the local track this weekend and a guy had a 1/5 scal sc truck. That thing was sick and alot more durable that i thought they would be....... I will be getting one on friday. As of now i have the team acossiated rc10t.41 thing is shite. I really dont like it at all. Its too brittle. I have up graded a lot of parts but its still shit. That losi does look good though.
