what the fuck is going on in this thread!? so much shit I can barely decipher, and so much misinformation!
from wat u sayin, da motor is healthy...nd wit 80k miles on da motor is low so if u was to run boost on only 7lbs it would handle lovely, as long as you TUNE it. wit everything stokk nd in good running condition a Ls motor can handle up to 300hp wit good tuning so u pretty much on da right trakk, just keep researching nd ull be good.....good lukk!
300hp on a BONE STOCK LS? with 80k (and judging from the nature of this post, they were HARD)miles on the clock?
I wouldnt trust the weak-ass rods in a stock LS past 225whp on an IMMACULATE tune. even then, id still feel like my time was limited with a running engine.
also, 7lbs generally doesnt tell us anything.. 7lbs on a small turbo is far different from 7lbs on a large turbo.
im ganna run hondata with boost option, and changed my mind on ebay turbos im going percision gt30r.dsm black top450's,for a nice spool im using a ram manifold and when i get it tuned its ganna cost me 450 just for a street tune so it should be a great tune correct
450 is outrageous for a street tune. i paid $100 to have my car street tuned twice on CROME, and then dyno tuned. you are getting worked.
also, high price doesnt mean itll be a good tune.
fuck hondata. get a chipped ECU, and fine someone that knows what they are doing with CROME or another free program.
your build is missing one thing: internals. youre planning on running a gt30r on a stock LS. that just doesnt make sense to me. a 450whp capable turbo on a 225whp capable engine. fail.
get some decent pistons and rods, rebuild the engine, and do it right the first time. larger injectors, and a fuel pump, hello worth-while build.
I was about to say the cheap ebay turbo manifolds break easy.
they do,and re-welding them just worsens the problem. get a quality ramhorn.
should i rip the head off and throw arp head studs and head gasket
or is she still healthy
you can re-use the ARP head studs, unlike OEM bolts.
id tear the engine apart, rebuild with nice pistons and rods, and go from there. thats just my .02, coming from someone who has done this EXACT SAME THING BEFORE.
