In theroy, a laser strong enough to hurt you, that makes with a mirror, will in fact reflect it, but the reflection point will heat up and eventually fail causing the mirror to melt or break. So it might work for a little while, but will eventually fail.
 
Interesting, my bro just got one of those spyder arctic lasers and we were burning paper, and lighting matches and small piles of gunpowder yesterday.
 
It's pretty sweet, you can light a match from across the room if you can hold it steady enough. He mostly was using it to light his bowl...

I'll have to wait til spring to kill any critters, there aren't any around right now. We did have some phosphorus balls from a dud mortar shell that were pretty fun to light off. I'm trying to think of a cheap way to set it up on a 2D CNC table to do wood burning or laser etching. I started writing on a piece of wood, naturally the first thing I wrote was "FUCK YOU" without thinking about it. It was almost instinctive. :huh:

Just clamp it to the head of a 3 axis CNC router, and write all your programs with the same Z axis distance. (If you can get to a router anyways.)
