So was this a court case in Atlanta? Where's the proof of the ruling?

I thought they already made this ruling somewhere up north where someone on a sport bike had a helmet cam?

they're blurring the lines there between video with audio and pictures

they talk about video but then say they deleted images from his camera phone
i see this getting a bunch of people in trouble for recording audio lol

The case with the motorcyclist's helmet cam and the whole wiretapping/audio recording BS got dropped/thrown out AFAIK.

Yeah that's what I heard, and the judge said something about LEOs should be expected to be filmed in public as they're there for the public anyways...

HOLY CRAP.

They held him until he gave up the password to the officers so they could delete the compromising images...

How can we win the war on terror with the taliban and al queda videotaping our police officers in order to find exploitable weaknesses?

Also, are you really willing to be beaten without cause, hassled relentlessly because your rights are being taken one by one?

The sad thing is that the Establishment Republicans think in the manner with which I jokingly used a few posts ago. Rest assured some % of the country will fall in line and give up their rights for supposed “Safety”.

not me.

i'll go down in a storm of gunfire, swear words, no health insurance and porn raining from the skies.

The police is being policed, so everyone can be policed to be policed by the polices.

But seriously, they have traffic cameras to capture traffic violators. Why cant we have police cameras to corrupted police officers?

Case in point. My friend got pulled over for speeding. Asked the officer for the reason he was pulled over. Then requested to see the radar readings, but the officer said he didnt use one and it was by "eye-sight." So my friend asked if he was a "fucking human radar" and ended up just paying the fines.

If this was caught on tape, 100% his ticket wouldve been invalid. In California, the citing officer has to either use a radar or by pacing behind for a few meters before pulling over someone. Even patrolling aircrafts cant issue a citation, they can only "give hints" to an officer of an offender and the ground peace office can issue a citation via the previously mentioned methods.

anyway:

Well, you obviously don't know the law. An officer can pull you over and ticket you for anything, with or without a tool like a radar gun to prove anything.

If your friend fought it, instead of being a lemming and paying it, he likely would have gotten off in court. Cops know people do this, so they get paid and give out tickets.

fight EVERYTHING worth while.

The only ticket i paid in recent times was my $38 seatbelt fine.... because i was really doing 125+ mph in a 55 zone. lol He earned that 38 from me and i gladly paid it, because going to court because i did in fact have my seatbelt on, and telling the judge i was really doing 125 in a 55 zone is just, well, stupid :)

i think everyone knows that an officer can give you a citation for any reason. but that doesnt mean that it will hold in court. "innocent until proven guilty." thats why i said, if he had a video of the whole thing, especially with the cop admitting he didnt use a radar or paced behind, makes the ticket null. and cops know people wont take the time to go to court and fight a ticket. its not worth it for most of them.

ive beaten every speeding ticket ive received (two) because i know i wasnt speeding and the cops were assholes.

he could have just written your friend for speed not reasonable/prudent and a misdemeanor reckless driving if he wanted to be a douchebag, and hauled your friend to jail in cuffs...

this is why i firmly believe in not doing shit that will need to be recorded to prove your innocence/guilt. is it that fucking hard to stay out of trouble?
