Has anyone seen this setup in a honda, or possible know a manufacturer (other then autometer, who ive only found for evo's and wrx's) who makes Gauge pods for Glove box installs? I have gauges i need mounted but i dont want a pillar or to ruin my dash, but i want a stealthy look. I dont need to see them at all times, so its not an issue, but im having issues making myself a template.

Thats right I forgot... I've never seen any kits for the glove box, I think they were all custom made..

just make one... get some fiberglass and set it how you want/need it

I have 0 experience with fiberglassing, i was looking at making a faceplate for future removal if need be.

I had thought about working a fiberglass gauge pod at one point and doing a build thread on it, but im not sure if it will turn out worth wile.

its pretty easy

or you can get a kydex sheet and just make a plate to mount them to

I know there is a "lost foam" method of forming Styrofoam to the shape you want then laying fiberglass over it and then dissolving the foam with acetone. That is how we made some parts for our dust collector for our shop machines in my wood shop. I just don't remember the specifics and I am not on my computer that has the details. If it were me I would Google it as it was very easy to do and you can customize the shape how you see fit.

I had once stumbled across a build thread of someone installing a mini computer in an SUV, they had used some sort if form over top an own faceplate and sanding and "carved" the desired shape, then fiberglassed over it to make the custom plate. I had thought about doing it this way but had hoped to find a company or personal fabricator of something along my liking. I suppose I'll end up going the route of fiberglassing it personally, well attempting haha.

If anyone does happen to stumble across anything useful, definitely post a link,

Thanks!

Well i have been working on a template using some cardboard and an old gauge pod i had.

Its just a mock up until i can get some MDF for a more solid model to fiberglass over.

I need to bring the angle up alittle on how the gauge face the driver, and then lay it on a sheet of MDF and test my fiberglassing skills.

Ill post up more as i get it together.

(Idk why the pics are posting sideways, they were uplaoding facing right side up. :/)

If you read my last post it says I'm already using an old pod I had, but all the pods I've seen are too short. Thus why I cut apart the 3 gauge pod and spaced it out. Everything you see white in the photo will be fiberglassed.

looks almost as dumb as my bright idea to put gauges in the vents.

ahh back in the day!

It's not like I'm gonna need to watch the gauges at All time, but they're gauges that I'll need to have to be Able to moniter from time to time. I want them to be hidden away from prying eyes, instead of using a typical gauge pod... Plus it's a fun learning experience with the fiberglassing :D

Well attempt number 1 was junk. I layered the resin way to thick, and have fiberglass in my skin although i used gloves and safety shit.. /sigh

Contemplating attempt number 2 another day..
