Can you get a new Honda w/o that crap? The $.99 one I have in the glove box works fine, does not mess up and cost lots to fix, and will not lite up anything on the dash. Plus it doesn't care what rims I put on the car.

yep... phase in started in 2005 and was 100% mandatory by september 2007... so anything 08 model year or newer will have it

:lame:

Yep, That's your federal government for you. They regulate to make heaver cars, oops I mean safer, while regulating to reduce emissions, while regulating more MPGs... while they are the ones who test for these things....

Would it adversely effect the car if you remove that shit. I mean the light will burn out eventually

It will be fine if you do. It does nothing but tell you if your tire pressure is off by three or more pounds per square inch.

No it won't. You will just have that annoying light on all the time. Don't worry, your government is just getting started with new regulations.

EVERY car will have a backup camera in 2 years. Want a cheap new car? Now it will cost you $150-300 more because of the camera, wiring, and monitor.

The government is mandating new CAFE mpg requirements, yet there is a new roof crush requirement that adds 50-100lb to a car.

yet another series of retarded government programs and regulations that eventually have no choice but to implode upon themselves

you cant keep adding size and weight to cars, while at the same time imposing higher and higher fuel regulations on them... that only works for so long... eventually you get to the point where no matter how efficient the engine is it simply can not lug around all of that size and weight AND achieve the required MPG... at some point somehtings gotta give

At least the could mandate something useful like a fully retracting arm rest so getting a bj in the car was less cumbersome

fuck TPMS.

the new wheels i just bought for my suby, i bought without TPMS on purpose. it would have costed me either 150 for the sensors + trips to the dealer to pair them (2 sets of wheels, with 2 sets of TPMS = going to get repaired every time you swap wheels, ~$50 each time) or 150 for the sensors + 150ish for the reset tool to re-pair them yourself. and the tool is finicky and doesnt work half the time.

i said fuck all that BS and just got the wheels without them. ill either take the bulb out for the light, or cover it up with electrical tape.

You're lucky in your subie it's just a single light. In the cr-z it's two lights, a display, and sounds every time you turn the car on. Oh, and you can't turn off traction control...

tpms sux ass i deal with it every day if u take it out the light will flash on some cars toyotas have them in the spare [fucking stupid] take the sensors out and the bulb and call it real

my 08 lancer had that crap and it would piss me off in the winter when the air in the tires got cold they would go off tell me to put air in. it was very annoying because i had to look at a big monitor in the center of the gage cluster at a huge. "LOW TIRE PRESSURE" sign and on the warning lights it would show a flat tire.... -_-
