It'll be interesting to see what kind of role we are to play if this goes on for a while. Looks like Sarkozy is trying to rid the french of their "Pussy" moniker. lol

I know Bush hasnt been in office since 2008, but this just HAS TO BE his fault somehow. And the same thing with Guantanamo bay - if Bush never opened it, Obama wouldnt have had so much trouble closing it... see? Its Bush's fault its still open because he opened it in the 1st place!
 
By finally stepping up and taking on one of the smaller countries over there. Good for them!

Population of Iraq is 31 million

Population of Libya is 6.4 million

+ oil is a market price thing, so based on how things go over there the price will go up/down based on how many jackasses buy buy buy or sell sell sell on the open market =( If its viewed as a oil heavy country anything to make oil swing 10 bucks + or - market value.

Ok so the US is located BETWEEN our two LARGEST oil suppliers, plus we have ALASKA, which means CANADA our BIGGEST SUPPLIER OF OIL is located between US STATES!

There must be tons of un-tapped oil in America.

There's shitloads of it and if it comes out the price of oil will drop.

Oil is mostly politics.
 
How long do you guys give it till the US wants the attention and tries to take over the lead in military action there. Our bunch of insecure warmonger politicians aren't going to let the French have all the credit, right?

Fuck this, I can't wait to gtfo of here and move somewhere that doesn't go invading a new country every few years.

No such place exists.

There is a direct correlation between economic prosperity and propensity for invasion. Basically, the better your doing, the less you want other people screwing things up for you.

It doesn't work like that, oil is a strategic resource which means we have an interest in keeping other people's oil supplies flowing so they don't start bidding against us for Canadian/Mexican oil. If China/Russia/Europe's oil supplies are cut off it will become an American problem in about the time it takes to drive out a tank of gas.

I find it hilarious that the French are involved. All this talk during the Bush years about war for oil and now here we are, with Obama and the French entering into military action against the largest oil exporter on the continent of Africa to stabalize the country. You think Obama will catch any heat from the "anti-Imperialist" movement on the left? Me neither.

Let's just hope Syria doesn't end up conquering France...

Don't get me wrong I'm not fan of what Sryia has been up to. If it were up to me we're take complete air superiority, pin down their military, and nab Gadhafi. Let him stand trail for war crimes as a reminder to all the asshats out there who would bomb their own civilians.

When you consider their oil exports against their population Lybia should be the wealthiest nation, per capita, in the world and yet their people are poor. It boggles the mind, Lybia has everything it needs to be a freaking Utopia for the next 30 years...

That seems to be the most logical course of action. Too bad we never end up going that route.
 
Nah, what we will do is give china access to our oil in order to remove our debt from them.

Am I the only one that misses the days of the CIA assassinating folks? Some of our problems would be a lot less complicated if we would just whack the bosses of these countries.
 
I miss the old days when they didn't get caught extraditing people cause they never turned their fucking cellphones off and used their real names to book hotel rooms...
