Wow 17677 unread posts since my last visit! Seems to have been awhile. Some of you may remember from last year I dropped a B18a1 into my 94 eg hatch. Well sold that picked up a Durango listed it, 33s, had some fun but blew the motor fourwheeling. Had the eg withdrawl and picked up a 92 sedan. Been very happy with it so far.

Currently has 358***kms on the original d15b7, which has got to go. Still runs good but IMO nothing runs a civic like a B. So had a PR3-2 head sitting around, so decided the B series needed to happen. Bought a jdm b16a block. Getting a LS tranny tomorrow, and have been sourcing the shit out of parts this week.

Plan is to be able to drop it in, in two weekends or a week after that.

I'll keep up dating as much as I can.

Here are some pics of my sloppy, dirty ride.

Thanks for looking.

The winters here are ridiculous!

Purchased all new seals and gaskets. Head is being planed at the machine shop this weekend. Picked up a flawless hydro tranny and bare intake mani. Headers should be here monday. Tomorrow need to hit pick-n-pull to grab axles, throttle body, throttle cable, vtec selenoid, starter, and some other random shit to complete the swap.

Should be going in next weekend! Super stoked, can't wait to run a b series again.

Thanks for looking,

Guy

Picked up everything except for vtec solenoid and axles. Sheared the 1/2 drive off my ratchet attempting to remove an axle nut :( But found a buddy who still has some. I'll spend most of tomorrow putting it all together.

did you unlock the nut before you tried taking it off. but take pics as you go. makes for a more interesting thread.:D

You are talking about that channel that the nut gets pinched into right? If so yes smacked a flat head in there and pulled it outwards.

I would be taking more pics but I can't find my cord for my camera but I will be taking lots of pictures next weekend. Document the whole swap.

Thanks,

Guy

Unfortunately I don't have a hoist avaliable this weekend, so I have to wait for next week. But I managed to get everything I need except for the valve cover bolts. I have most but need the four for the center. Should be soon and I will post pics.

Thanks

Guy

Sorry guys it's been a while. Three weeks ago the wife left, been dealing with a lot of things lately, especially with my son. But tonight I went and started building everything again. Does anyone know which cam gear bolts i can use, I pulled some off of a dc with a b18b in it and the bolts are to small? I haven't seen any b16 at my local junk yards. Can I use any off of another b series? Thanks,

Guy

Well this is finally happening!!! I'm about half way having the tired d15b7 pulled out after having two axles snap lately, one two days ago, and the drivers a week and a half ago:( lucky i had spares from Jade (the old teal eg). But tonight the plans are to have the motor pulled and the bay prepped for the B16 to go in early tomorrow morning! all the wiring is done except for knock sensor which i will wire straight to the ecu once the engine is in. I will use Sunday to trouble shoot if neccessary. Happy Hondaing! Will post pics later tonight. Thanks for looking,

Guy

Yeah you need to get rid of the rust on the fenders for sure.

So ended up pulling the B16 head due to warpage on the valve seats. To get mobil again bought a GSR head from a buddy. Last night got her running, sounds good no knocks and pings. Only thing stopping me from driving is the high idle due to TPS and IAT ecl.

If you read from the beginning of the post I will be getting rid of all the rust and respraying the car, probably captiva blue. I said that the bye bye to the rust will happen as soon as the snow melts, but it just snowed 25cm three days ago, so I think I'll be waiting for a while. Thanks,

Guy
