I was on vaca with my family last week. We were looking for something to do the last day of the trip and I convinced my dad and brother to give karting a try. I’ve never done karting before, only drag racing.

The mic was fun - if i had more time to practice im sure id be good at it. At the time of the event I had ZERO practice.

with those things, there are 2 points to winning

1) know the apexes of each turn.

2) never ever ever ever skid.

you can make up soooo much time if you watch people skid on corners. the last time i raced, i ran the practice laps to get use to the cars. then i placed 3rd in the time trials, and ended up winning the final race because i was able to make the turns faster and never got the back tires loose.

Yeah after a few laps I was purposefully trying to drift the car around the turns. It was a fools errand, as I only lost speed

i did that my first time as well. then i realized i spent $40 to come in last place. drifting is fun, winning the race is even more fun.
