The second one may have been the best out of the franchise thus far but I am looking forward to number three. It may not top number two but Nolan is on a pretty damn good run.

christopher nolan shits diamonds. his attention to detail will make this a phenomal flick. and the fact that he didn't cop out and use the riddler and johnny depp will make it even better.

Yeah, I do remember reading something where he said that he wouldn't make another one unless he came up with a great story to tell, so hopefully he's got one...

Well we know they wont be using the joker :)

thats not necessarily true. there are 3 options. they could cgi him in on certain scenes, they could recast him, or they could use unused footage from the dark night.

i know, it was a joke. lol

I dunno, I read that they cast (or were working to cast) Joseph Gordon-Levitt for something and they didn't know for what... He does look an awful lot like Heath Ledger...

christopher nolan just really likes using him in his movies.

Seriously. I'm with 95b16coupe

Nolan craps fucking gold.

I loved inception.

I actually just watched Inception for the first time last night, awesome stuff. Challenging to keep up with but not 'omg i don't get it' difficult like I had heard from some people.

Nolan is a genius. Its nice to see people still paying attention to movies, rather than pumping out mass-media friendly Micheal Bay abortions.

yeah, thats why i like Lions Gate. They always put out the best stuff that gets hardly any media attention. TRUE films, not 'pop' garbage.

I'm pretty sure I read an interview where Nolan said he wasn't going to use the Joker in the 3rd film. I hope that's true. I mean yeah, Ledger was awesome and he built a great character, but there are other Batman villians out there that I'd like to see Nolan take a shot at. Plus, if they have somebody come in and try to do Ledger's Joker, it might come off as exactly that - somebody else just trying to copy Ledger. I think I'd rather see Nolan's take on another villain that we haven't seen yet.

According to the IMDB page, it looks like they're planning to have Bane as the villain? If that's true then I can't wait to see Nolan's take on Bane. I think the last time Bane was in a Batman movie was that George Clooney / Schwarzenegger abortion from the mid 90s, and he was pretty much just a Hulk-like "grunt a lot and throw shit around" type of villain. The Bane from the comics is huge AND smart, so I'm sure Nolan will probably go that route as opposed to just having him be big.

Looks like Joseph Gordon Levitt is lined up to play Alberto Falcone, which, if I recall correctly from the comics is the son of the mob boss from the first movie. I'm sure he probably could do the Joker if they wanted him too, but I'm also cool with the Joker not being in it...

I dont think anyone could portray the Joker as well as Heath did. He pretty much became him rather than just played him.

After months of rumors... reports that the "Inception" and "500 Days of Summer" star has officially signed on to the cast of Christopher Nolan's third Batman film, "The Dark Knight Rises." Gordon-Levitt will play Alberto Falcone, the son of mob boss and major "Batman Begins" villain Carmine Falcone, played in that film by Tom Wilkinson.
The role is one /Film had speculated Gordon-Levitt would get, as it's part of one of Nolan's favorite Batman story lines.
It's turning out to be a star-studded cast for Nolan's third turn with the caped crusader franchise; freshly minted Oscar winner Christian Bale is back as Batman, while Anne Hathaway will play Selena Kyle/Catwoman and Gordon-Levitt's "Inception" cast mate Tom Hardy will play Bane, another villain.
In other Batman casting news, Variety also reports that indie star Juno Temple is up for a role in the film, as a "street-wise Gotham girl."
This film may be the last go around as Batman for Bale; he's said that, from what he knows of Nolan's plans, he'll drop the cape at three films, but until he gets that confirmation, he's open to playing the role in a fourth film.
That Juno bitch annoys me. Almost as much as Maggie Gyllenhaal's face. And I'd definetly hope for a fourth if all went well with this one.
