Damn. I was 6 going on 7... My friends dad was just talking yesterday about his trip to Seattle years ago and how he went to see his memorial. We didnt even think about how it was nearly the anniversary.

I can't believe it. 18 years ago! Where the hell does time go? I remember wathcing nirvana unplugged on mtv so that had to be 19-20 years ago.

Edit: Oh, and he died in 94'. Thats 17 years. Math>you.

and also the anniversary of layne staley's death. kisw the big rock station in seattle played nothing but seattle bands all day today in honor/memmory of layne and kurt. pretty cool heard some stuff i havent listened to in a long time

Wow, I must have good memory because I remember hearing about it(I would also be around 7 years old). I still remember looking at the album cover of Nevermind and laughing.

And 9 years since Lane Staley died.

Died on the same day. Nuts part about it. Here in seattle, we've had only Seattle music yesterday(grunge) in rememberance of them throughout the day. It was pretty neat. I still remember when my mom bought me mtv unplugged, then two weeks later told me that nice man that sang on a plain died.

werd.

i dont like nirvana.
i tried many times, but to me, their music blows. i just cant stand listening to it.

Think B will be mad if I change the title to 17 years.

I think I will break out the best of Nirvana cd today.

it's not just about the music Nirvana made. they literally changed the music scene and appealed to a whole culture of youth. Much like the Beatles, the Ramones, and NWA.

before nirvana, big hair bands were the most popular groups in music. nirvana basically decapitated the whole genre. they reached a new group of youth, changed music, and influenced the last 20 years in music.

And thank Jahoooova for that. I haaaaaaate hair metal bands.

i understand that they had a part in changing the music scene, but im not going to credit them for actually changing it.
it was time for a swing in the genres, and if it wasnt nirvana, it would have been another band, it just so happened to be them that the big label chose to toss around.

but, regardless of what happened and when, i hate their music. just my personal taste, not saying anybody else has to, but i just dont like them.
