I'm going to say 3 insensitive things now.

1) at Yale you should be smart enough to be safe

2) if it happened late Tuesday early wednesay she was probably working wayyyy too late and was tired and negligent.

3) and on the next episode of "1000 ways to die"

No shit, right? You'd think that they shouldn't even have to tell people at that academic level something so stupid as "Keep your long ass hair out of that thing that is spinning really really fast."

I'll add to those insensitive remarks with ":shrug2: she wasn't that hot anyway."

it has been my experience that a lot of the most book smart people i know have the least common sense and or street smarts

from the time ive spent around yale, and as made glaringly apparent here, common sense / street smarts are obviously not required to get into yale

go grab a bowl of noodles at York St Noodle House (its within the Yale campus) listen to the "Yalies" around you... it will be very clear that while they may be smart, they are fucking retarded

Her last name was Dufault

.."du" means "you" in German

^lol

Working with rotary equipment, main thing you're warned about is long hair and loose clothing(or even gloves). At some places, you'll get fired for using gloves with rotary equipment....and last place I worked at some guy messed up his fingers when his gloves got caught in a pneumatic screwdriver....though it was his own fault(he was playing with the screwdriver).

I saw this on the news last night. They were talking with people on the Yale campus. The students kept saying they need faculty to prevent things like this from happening. NO, they need more common sense around power tools.
She was probably over tired, and over worked trying to get her project done.

thats really unfortunate what happened to her
i'll leave all the shitty remarks to you douchebags
RIP, and sorry for the loss to her family

double major in astronomy and physics

I definitely agree with that. It's kinda scary that many of those people with absolutely no fucking common sense will be responsible for other people's livelihoods (is that srsly the right spelling?) in a few years.

That's exactly how my friend James is... electrical engineer and very smart.. but zero common sense/street smarts.. haha.. im the exact opposite

My sister as well. Academic full ride to OSU (they even pay her 3k a quarter,) not a damn bit of common sense or sense of direction.
