So I know we have some musicians here at hondaswap so I thought I would start a thread where we could share our music y0.

I have been playing acoustic and writing songs for a few years now and the other day I wrote what I feel like is one of my better songs.

So i threw up the blue bird and started to record. I got a pretty cool live rough take using only one mic to record vocals and guitar but I liked it, and will probably do my demo in this style.

ANYWAYS I would love for yall to add me on reverb nation and become my fan, and I would love even more to hear some of the others music out here and maybe do some collaboration or something.

Nice crotch.

B I had to use jBridge « J’s stuff Jbridge to make the first 64 bit Sonar happy with all of my added software. Thankfully now Sonar is up to date and running full 64 bit support so I dont need it anymore.

I'd e-mail the guy who does jbridge, he has been very helpful and tell him your problem and see if it will work, he gave me the full version to demo to see if it fixed my problem, said if it didn't work then he'll send me updates until it works and only at that point would I pay anything.

Worth a shot!

I have cubase se3. se5 is out and compatible, i just don't feel like paying for the upgrade. maybe if i get rich someday, i'll get an axefx unit and protools

And jbrige might make it work. A handful of my software did not work with 64 bit sonar but after Jbridge they did.

Give it a try.

As a person who is protools certified and never uses it I would suggest investing into Logic or ableton ... they are much more capable and dont tie you down to Avid only products. Once you get protools you HAVE to use an avid interface and avid controllers and avid this avid that.

I use logic and I love it!

I haven't recorded anything in a long time. My software apparently doesn't work with vista or 7, so i haven't done anything since i ditched xp :(

I shot a couple horrible videos when i was focusing on some picking techniques, so i basically filmed my right hand the whole time. lol just covers jamming along with.

YouTube - Asking Alexandria - A Prophecy guitar cover

YouTube - As I lay dying - 94 hours / confined guitar cover

Don't have anything original ready to go

I need to get better at my metal guitar skills. I know a few riffs for a few songs but i cant get my fingers up to the speed I would like :(

Yeah, speed is tough. You can see me at the very end basically drop the pick out of my hand because it was so cramped up. Those 2 songs in a row (especially the live versions like i was playing against which were about 15-20bpm faster than album speed) Took a while for me to even play through confined alone.

In doing so, i lost a LOT of flexibility on barre style chords. stuff like Am to C... simple changes and i'm in 'metal' mode muting strings with my left hand. lol It's tough to stay in shape for everything. I try to play at least an hour or two a day lately. It's just like working out. You gotta expand, push harder, and rep out to see any gain

I have no "original" tracks or anything, but I've been a drummer/percussionist for almost 11 years now. played with 4-5 bands, and went to college for a year and a half for music.

well What part of texas are you in? I am gonna try to get an album recorded within a year and could use a studio drummer for some of my tracks

I'm in Fort Worth currently, not too far from you.

I guess when ever I get some instrumentals down i can send them to you and you can learn the songs and come play a few when I get to that part on my recording. But it might take a while for us to find the studio to use

That sounds great bro, I may have to leave the state for about 2 months here pretty soon (like end of may, early june) atleast that's what they are saying right now, so as things change I'll keep you updated. I need to get a new set too, which isn't a problem.
