Introduction:
I Have a 1997 Acura Integra GS-R swapped into my 1993 Honda Del Sol "S'. The engine is powered by a 1995 OBD1 GSR P72 ECU. I have recently come across a snag in completing my swap to perfection. My car started running horribly. My car started running rich and I've had to rev up to 3K RPM to get a decent accelaration out of my engine. That led me to doing a code check and i came up on a CODE 10 (Bad AIT sensor and/or circuit). So what I did was replace the sensor and that made the problem good for a while, then the car ran bad AGAIN:mad:... So I went to replacing the O2 and the AIT sensors which fixed the problem for about a week. Then my car ran like a it was a newborn baby on a thousand laxatives. This CODE 10 is such a hassle. I've been stuck with my car like this for about two months constantly asking automotive friends and going in and out of forums looking for answers. And so my final solution which should have been my first is to ask those of WWW.HONDASWAP.COM.:rimshot:

The Attempt to find a solution:
So I opened the hood on the very next oppurtunity to check on the AIT circuit since I've replaced the sensor multiple times already. I followed the wires back to the ECU. Note: Theres two wires from the AIT sensor are a BLK/YLLW converted to a thick green wire and a BLU/YLLW converted to a thick blue wire (seen below). I find the green wire going straight to D17 ECU connector pinout hole (INTAKE AIR BYPASS CNTRL. SOL. VALUE), and the blue wire is just hanging there. But the problem is theres a red and yellow wire already in the D15 pinout hole (Unable to track it down but looks like it goes down toward the Oil pan or Oil pressure sensor). Now I'm trying to figure out where I can put this blue wire which is supposed to be in D15 to properly set up the AIT circuit and send the right signal to the ECU so it can do its job and adjust? I was told I can tap/splice/Solder the wire to the D11(TPS) or either of the 2 Signal Ground wires (D21-D22) would this be correct information?
Pictures with questions:
1)No MAP?! Is this ok for an Obd2 B18c1 swap into a 93 Obd1 EG? Could I plug in my AIT sensor to this pinout to set up the AIT circuit properly?

2)TO ME it looks like the Blue wire could have been crammed into the CPK pinout or is that JUST me? Could this be the solution to setting up my AIT circuit and clear the CODE 10? Can I plug in the AIT wire to the CPK pinout?

3)As you can see the blue wire I followed from the AIT sensor is just hanging there, and pinout D15 (AIT) is already taken by a red and yellow... and the small thin silver exposed wire that is soldered to the blue AIT wire runs to the A26 pinout (LG1-Logic Ground) Note: Unable to get a good clear picture. Any Ideas as to where I can plug/splice/solder this wire to complete the circuit and send the proper signal to the ECU?

Thank You:
I would like to thank any and all of those that can help give some information for a first time swap owner. Thank you for any and all your help!:)

I do not know why you are seeing these issues at the ECU plugs. Makes me wonder what the car has gone through. You can start tracing stuff and use this site below as a reference. There are OBD1 pin-outs that can definitely help

.:FFS TechNet:.

I've looked at those links multiple times and the only thing Im being told is to wire up the AIT sensor to the tps pinout because they have the se grounding circuit for the Ecu to receive a signal... Is this right? All I have is a code 10, and following a flowchart I have come Down to having toblook at the circuit. Is there another way to set up the AIT circuit?

I would rather see you put stuff in their proper spot. I am a little confused to why they would want you to wire the IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor to the TPS (throttle Position Sensor)????

IDK either the only reason I was told was because the tps has the same ground point as the AIT...
Well just to give you more information, I also have a two piece OBD2a wire harness and obd2a p72 gsr Ecu I can play around with. I know wiring this car was a pain... But would it be better to just replace my wire harness with the obd2a and buy an obd1 gsr Underdash wire harness and an obd2 to obd1 adapter? Oh and can I use a Integra Gs-r or a Honda del sol under dash for my swap? Sorry I have so many questions, I'm trying to get rid of this persistent code 10.

.....I would look into a OBD1 harness from the shock tower to the ECU (one that ain't been hacked up)

Stay away from OBD2A stuff....stay OBD1......just my $0.02 though.

Sounds good thanks I'll get on that asap, I'll keep updating thing page frequently... Now does it matter if it's the gsr obd1 Underdash wire harness or the Honda del sol Underdash wire harness?

I do not know......but I am pretty sure they are similar enough......unless you have a Del Sol S (not Si or VTEC) b/c it doesn't have VTEC.....and you want VTEC lines to the ECU. I would think a GSR would be fine but I am worried a few lines go to the drivers side too (although I do not think so)

So If I used an obd1 GsR Underdash, I would have nothing else to wire except the cpk sensor, the vtec, and nothing else huh? And i also doubt anything runs to the drivers, but as long as the harness hooks up to the obd1 p72 Ecu I can use the obd1 gsr harness right?

I would think wire does go to the drivers side. What about CEL? It wouldn't loop through the engine bay. I have a strange feeling that there is more too. I would get the plugs that are needed and re-pin old stuff in as needed

But......the more I think about it......there is enough info out there to help you trouble shoot this. Look for a Helm Manual for your car (they are the best....period) And there's a ton of info on ffsquad....take some time there and check it out. You just gotta fix what ever the hell someone else did.

sounds like you might have your iab and iat plugs mixed up.

Would switching the IAB and AIT set off a CODE 10? Just to show you the blue wire in the following picture is the AIT and the silver thin wire exposed is soldered to it and THAT ends up spliced to the A26 pinout for (LG-1 Logic Ground).

The next pictures shows how the wires are set up on the D connector of my OBD1-p72 G-sR ECU. The knock sensor D3 pinout looks like it may have had the AIT crammed in there at one point in time, or is that just me?

And the next image shows the Even pinouts from 2-22... with the D17 pinout for a MAP senor gone is that right?
