Does anyone know the right size for the DSM 4G64 head bolts "Triple Hex" socket? I got one from Autozone that was a SAE/Metric (whatever idiot came up with that idea needs to be shot since they are different) and it was just a hair too big, duh the next smaller size was too small.

i assume 2G eclipse right?

stock head studs? 2G Eclipse Turbo ARP head studs?

It's a 2003 ,I think, GS, they are the OEM head studs as far as I know. I am pulling the head for a friend because it's overheating, and they have already done everything short of head gasket, and checking if the head is warped. They just bought it from a guy, but it doesn't look like it has ever been taken apart. I put a 13mm on one and it felt tight, I turned it and I felt it pop over the head, so I wiped some oil off and looked closer and saw they are the triple hex.

Looks just like this one ...

ahh sohc then, is the engine on the drivers or passengers side of the vehicle?

M11x1.125 is the bolt size and thread pitch. you need to know what socket size you need to fit the head right? my suggestion would be to get a set of metric and a set of sae 12pt sockets, or borrow them..

Going to make a cast of it, and measurements and take it to a specialty tool shop today, hopefully they will have a socket that fits, they seem to have ...everything. If they don't than I guess we can take the cast and make a socket. I even called Mitsubishi here and they didn't know.

Alright, how do you loosen the timing belt on this motor? I watched a video of the 2006, and there's a lever you push and it slacks the belt, but this car doesn't have that lever.

Anyone know how to loosen it?
