Either I will look like a complete fool, or a bunch of people that vehemently believe in the word of a man who incorrectly predicted the rapture in 1994 will be extremely disappointed.

This is just a case of people creating a fake crisis in order to make money. Apparently this church is now worth 7.2 mil

I got a flyer from a member of this judgement day church and all the verses in the Bible they were using to support their theory are taken grossly out of context. You have to read your meaning into the text in order to come out with the exact date of judgement day.

That's one of my biggest problems with the bible, really. Organized religion encourages people to take whatever meaning they want from the scriptures, so all kinds of things can be perfectly justified.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that noise! I don't want to fight fucking raptors!

zen jew are ze anti-christ?.....:angel2:

teh dude predicted the world to end back in 1994 and retracted after saying his calculations were wrong. now he is saying it will START tomorrow, but the end of the world is actually in october. so the beggining of the end starts tomorrow and the end of the beginning of the end of teh world is several months away.

The theory that the "Rapture"--or Judgment Day--will occur on May 21 appears to have originated with the 89-year-old leader of the ministry Family Radio Worldwide, Harold Camping, who earlier predicted the end of days as Sept. 6, 1994.

just like in 1994, nothing happened. 1999, nothing happened, 2011, nothing will happen. 2012, nothing will happen.

when I hear about this stuff the Garmin ladys voice always plays in my head; recalculating is all these people do.

Everything written down only has one correct meaning, and that meaning is the one intended by the author. If I pick something up and read my own meaning into it, i can make anything I read say & mean whatever I want.

lol my college's campus was a semi-riot yesterday because of this. there were people in suits everywhere handing out flyers and other bullshit propaganda. a mormon dude approached me and the only thing i said was "i have a class to get to, take a hike"

:)

i saw a shit ton of the billboards on the way down and back on I95 to FL
apparently they are running this media blitz worldwide

I enjoyed the story about the retired guy in staten island that spent his entire retirement fund on advertising for this.

I'm ready :) If i don't die in the blast, I have food and water for a month and my plants are just about ready to go in the ground :)

the world gets closer to coming to the end when i eat at chipotle than when one of these nutjobs makes a prediction.
