Friggin hondas

This is my new beater bike I plan on riding the piss out of to/from work. Hoping to see around 45mpg on avg.

First pictures are as soon as I got home.

Bra is off, mirrors are already off, have new ones going on that don't look like dumbo.

plan on stripping it down and cleaning it up to meet jeffie specs, and maybe fix some of the minor body issues, the bike clearly went down on both sides but is well within fixable with little money.

60mph with no hands and it rides as straight as injen could only dream he could be.

Once I get it cleaned up and all the new parts on I'll post some more pictures.

Future plans are mirrors, PC to retune the rich ass stock map, and maybe some pipes. CF pipes would look cool although maybe too much money to spend on a bike I plan on riding the hell outta. I'd also like to replace the crappy ass POS rear shock. $$$$ but with a new rear shock I'd pretty much be limited only by my foot pegs. I do plan on those being an issue so rear sets might be on order sooner. There's zero grind marks on them from the old owner, lets give it a week and see what happens... I plan on them being gone before too long.

So friggin eh, yet another honda bike......

I LOOOVE those! How bad is the wind on the highway with no windshield/fairing?

Doesn't bother me. Even when riding a super sport bike I always sit straight up when riding on a highway. Most of the wind hits me.

Meh no big deal.

Just gotta keep a good stock pile of ear plugs =)

Without a fairing......it looks like like those new aged cafe racers that started in Europe....what the hell are they called? I cannot remember for the life of me.

Yes Sir! Not saying they totally look like Cafe racers but I think they are cool.

street fighter is a sport bike striped down, if you look up street fighters you'll find Honda 919, Kaw Z1000, Yam FZ1...

Cafe Racer + Street Fighter = Cafe Fighter. They are all different but generally the same idea.

I agree.....and thats the basis of a Cafe Racer....right? I think they are cool and your minimalist front end reminded me of the Street Fighters I've seen. They can be a bit too Bling Bling for my taste.

That blue bike is sick.

I still want a cruiser, the vtx series is pretty nice.

i've always used the term naked sport bike
street fighters in my area are the sport bikes that were downed and the people were too cheap to fix, and thought it'd be cool to throw some lame ass headlight on the front and rip all the cracked/destroyed fairings off it

nice that you found a 919 like you were looking for
not so impressed with the 45mpg, but its a 900cc 4 cylinder
i miss the ninja 250 days when i was 16/17, 80 mpg would be nice these days

Single sided swing arm is neat. The rest of the bike is meh.

Jeffie, I like yours. Doesn't look like a bad beater. Still miss my blast. I rode that fucker like a go cart. All on or all off. 60 MPG. 1.5 Gal capacity sucked though.

I think I'm going to start looking into a ruckus. Maybe get an absurd frame/motor lengthen.

135hp and torque out the ass says otherwise.

Honesty I've spent time on Ninja 500s and couldn't ride those on the street. I need enough power to get out of my own way without having to downshift 4 gears.

The little brother, Honda 599 is also a bit lighter and MUCH easier to find on the used market but I could never go back to a low powered street bike again. I just feel unsafe and hate having to always ride the bike like I stole it to get somewhat ok power out of it.

Besides some people are getting 50+ It's just all in how you ride it. For me.. guessing mid to high 40s.

Honda just launched this puppy: CB1000R.

It's been out for 2-3 years now, just not in America.

My main problem with the bike is the seat is more of a sport seat, and the pegs are higher up. In order to make Americans happy they're making it much more sporty. In other words its no longer a true CB.

Still a cool bike and with after market seats and maybe some new rear sets that lower the pegs, it might be a great daily rider.

Had some fun with a dremel today.

Check out the before and after.

Cuts like butter. I tried to make it look as factory as I could.
