Its obvious what happened. He took it on a joy ride and took a turn too fast. haha They should make the agent work for free til its paid off. That shouldnt be too long. :p
 
It's a Ferrari. Even with dry rotted tires it would be able to handle any turn if it was doing the speed limit.
 
My camaro has been parked on its Nitto 555s for quite a few years. They look brand new. haha
 
It's entirely possible that in addition to mechanical issues or whatever, the agent simply didn't know how to handle what is essentially a race car on the street.
 
the first mistake was not calling in a wrecker/ tow /moving service. Who ever made that call for someone to drive said car is at fault.

Its a "Total Loss" so the ins company can profit from it.
 
you can clearly see that whatever kind of frame behind that door is fucked, not to mention whatever the curvature is at the top of the roof.
then, look at the other pics, the suspension is shot too, i would love to see the underside and close ups of the rest of the body.

i would have totaled it too, that would be a pain to repair, im assuming it would have to be shipped back to ferrari and basically have it completely rebuilt.
im sure that rare model wouldnt be touched by any company here, and ferrari wouldnt allow it to go back out without it being 100% perfect or destroyed.
 
I'd dump 20 grand into fixing it in a heart beat. Sure it won't be 100% oem, but who cares? its a fucking f50.
even at 80%, its still 1231234112x the car you are driving now.

The car is a total loss only from a 'ferrari' perspective.

With 20 grand, or so, that could easily be fixed.

Even with a salvage title, someone would spend 100k for it. probably 150.
 
you know how a motorcycle helmet may or may not lose its integrity after your first wreck?
and they usually suggest scrapping the helmet and getting a new one if its been involved in a crash?
i would presumably apply the same theory to whatever the fuck makes up the unibody/frame of an F50
it'd be nice to have, and i can see your point on spending 20k to fix it, but if its my life on the line, and ferrari doesnt pass it with flying colors, i'm not taking the chance.
you usually see these cars ripped right in half after a wreck, so i wouldnt be suprised if there's.... more than meets the eye....
