b18b1 swap- OBD1 issue

Sup guys. We swapped a B18b from a 96 integra into buddies 2000 civic hatch. We used an EX (d16y8) harness. The motor is being run by a 2000 OBD2b B18b ecu, all I did was busted off the immobilizer chip, to enable it to run. Everything is well it runs pretty smooth, only issue is its throwing 2 codes which are:
- Secondary o2 sensor (we do not have the secondary o2 hooked up because we were planning on running an obd1 ecu originally which doesnt use a secondary o2.
-CKP sensor (which is the sensor located down by the timing cover near the oil pump... once again, the obd1 b18b's do not have this sensor down near the oil pump so it is not hooked up due to the fact we originally were going to run a obd1 b18b ecu)

Now. Heres the problem. The reason we arent running an obd1 b18b ecu like we originally planned is because the car wouldnt run good AT ALL with it. It would start up, idle, but it would run super grossly rich and shake super badly and pop and wouldnt rev up hardly over 3500rpms WOT.

This car wants to get boosted in the very near future. Which means being tuned by Hondata, which means we've gotta figure out why everything goes to all hell once an obd1 computer is plugged in. At the time of the swap we tried for weeks and weeks before we finally gave in and just threw a obd2b ecu into it so it was driveable again. But we HAVE TO figure this out. Any ideas????

and BTW. We already tried a buddies hondata s300 with a b18b map on it. And it ran EXACTLY the same as it did with a stock obd1 b18b ECU. And we tried a obd2b b16 ECU, and it ran fine.
 
Probably wires in the harness not going to the same places between OBD gens, could be one plug, or ten, idk. PITA but get the manuals and map them out, find out what's going where and that should give you an idea.
 
hmmm....fuck lol this sucks..maybe should sell ek swap old motor back in buy eg throw the b18 in there so i can boost it without all this obd trouble shit
 
well.. the way i see it... you put an obd2 engine, with an obd2 wireharness, in an obd2 car..... have you tried the jumper harness at the ecu?

yeah i put obd2a engine in it the engine harness is obd2b and the car is obd2b...we tried jumper to obd1 and it made it run like crap
 
Since you are trying to use the OBD2B ECU......I think you should get those codes fixed. Try to get it running solid and you can always make it work with a OBD1 ECU later.

I do not know..wondering if there is a difference in the Distributors?? (OBD2A vs OBD2B)

Since you are trying to use the OBD2B ECU......I think you should get those codes fixed. Try to get it running solid and you can always make it work with a OBD1 ECU later.

You wrote that a few sensors were not hooked up b/c you thought it was going to be running off a OBD1 ECU......so there must be codes that apply to sensors not hooked up.

ok well when we run obd1 ecu we get no codes...on obd2 those are the codes we get that are listed. but the obd1 doesnt even look for those sensors so thats not the issue cuz if it was the obd1 would throw them codes or any codes.
 
Which OBD1 ecu are you trying to run? It should be be specific for b18 unless its chipped..
You can just as easy boost that motor with an OBD2 ecu.

Bust out the multimeter and verify your jumper harness is the problem. A simple continuity test will reveal this. From the ecu to engine harness. Your dash harness "should not" be touched.
A missing or faulty knock sensor can make the engine run like sh!t let alone a missing 02 sensor.

It definitely sounds like a miswiring of engine components.

the ecu was obd1 p75 integra ecu...how can u boost motor on obd2 ecu?
