Audi : S4 | eBay

This is an amazing deal. If I needed a car, i’d hunt this thing down... its got a new clutch and a rebuilt motor.

... didnt see those because I was too busy salivating over the price and rebuilt motor. Id replace them with black, industrial (thick) zipties if I were to purchase this car.

whats up witht he zip ties holding the radiator in?

yep thats what those tiny little zip ties are doing

they are not holding a wire or tube up out of the way so it doesnt get caught up in the belts and fans at the front of the engine

no... they are holding in the radiator

perhaps they are there acting as a center support for the radiator... seeing that Audi's careless design only has mounts attaching to the radiator 8-10 or so inches away from those zip ties by the headlights

i mean thats a hell of a span to try to cross without center support to keep the radiator from sagging

its a damn good thing that someone re-engineered that design with some structural zip ties

really could have been catastrophic

of course having them wrapped around a cross member 3 inches behind the radiator, not actually making any contact with the radiator, probably hampers their ability to effectively hold in that radiator

back to the drawing board i guess

you should probably email him and let him know that his radiator is poorly supported by those zip ties

Best sleeper ever. And no rust. Add a new wastegate spring and a tune and rape the shit out of Brostangs all night long.

A year ago I almost picked up a used 94 S6 Avant. Problem was it had 236k miles on it.

Im shocked that everyone is into this thing. Any audi that old is a major fucking disaster waiting to happen. Just wait til the axles fail for the seventh time or it develops a series of infuriating and near unsolvable electrical gremlins. I worked on audis (not only audis) long enough to know better.

I had zip ties fail holding a license plate in place. They were supposed to be there for a few days until I could get the old bolts out, but they snapped a day later.

I've always been halfway into S4s. I think they'd be a real nice dd. Id try my hardest to keep it mostly stock, but Idk how long I could hold out. Expensive parts would probably help me resist. lol

brostangs, lmfao
nice

i'm not an audi fan but it seemed almost good, until i realized someone from TN rebuilt an audi motor, so yea... timebomb...

no offense invisible, lol

It's no Honda, but they are honestly not hard to work on. Especially the older ones. The newer ones maybe...I'd never personally recommend a 2.7T S4, hell even the 4.2 S4's.
I'm a master level Audi tech, so it can be assumed I know what im talking about.

What worries me about it is why the engine was rebuilt in the first place. The I-5 isn't know to have any major mechanical problems.

fair enough. perhaps I just had brushes with the worst of the worst.

What would they miss during a rebuild that could still impact future performance?
I've seen rednecks try to rebuild honda lower ends and have no clue what the color coding means for the lower end bearings so they just standard bore em all and say fuck it
thats the sort of thing i would be a little afraid of with an audi in TN, but it also happens in NY
