putting an H22A in my 88 crx. Anyone know where i can buy a punch or punch kit of the right size and font style to stamp my block with a "1" to change it from H22A to H22A1? all the punches i can find are too small.

I can only think of one reason. To pass It off as something its not whether it be for sale or otherwise I just don't get it either. That's why I  'd it. The A1 isn't even a better/rarer motor so I don't even see any point whatsoever.

My guess is he needs it to look like a USDM motor to pass some sort of emission testing.

I never think about emissions. That kind of stuff doesn't really matter in PA as long as it is the right OBD or newer. Most techs wouldn't even know if it was an older motor or not.

I need it to pass the ref to be bar'd. I wasn't thinking when i was building it and thought jdm motors could be bar'd. but it turns out jdm motors can only be bar'd in cars that originally came with a usdm counterpart. but any usdm motor can be put in my crx. so i need the "1" to be stamped into the block. lets be honest whether it be jdm or usdm its not going to matter, its the same block and wont effect emissions.

I've already got a lot of money into this engine, i don't want to start over. benson sleeved, cp pistons, pauter rods, ect. ect. so if someone can help me find this punch it would be greatly appreciated.

and yes im from bakersfield.

sweet.. another Bako head on board

if you're dealing w/ Aaron at the BAR station he'll know whats up if you stamp it... especially if you've already been in there

I haven't been in there yet, i planned on doing it before i go in the first time. I figure if i can stamp it in the right location, no one should be able to tell

Intentionally altering the appearance of an illegal mod to pass it off as a legal one is pretty much the definition of fraud in that case.

Great minds don't think alike ;)

Your best bet may be to swap short-blocks with someone?
