Anyone have it? Know anyone that has it?

Trying to decide what I want to do as for cable and internet, and I remember seeing this a while ago. Just wondering if it's worth the money for the components needed, if it is actually a decent setup, and if it has any advantages over regular cable/media center/netflix/etc.

Also, who provides reasonable internet service for a reasonable price that isn't from the cable company? In the Reno area, we have Charter, Uverse, and a company called Clearwire, but that's all I can really think of. Most of the cell companies offer the internet option with the USB device that you can plug into your router or into your computer, but cheapest one I've seen is around $50. I pay less for Charter internet now, but it's part of the bundle package.

TIA for the advice.

No idea but I'd like to know more about google tv. I know someone with Apple TV and they love it but they are a fan boy so anything bad will never be brought to light since its easily overlooked just because its a cute little white box.

Doesn't seem to be many reviews on it, at least from what I've seen. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

Edit: Updated reviews is what I meant. I've found reviews from earlier this year, and late 2010, but nothing conclusive to say Yay or Nay on it from the recent past.

From what I've read google tv isn't all that fleshed out as it stands now. Check out sling box and roku player. Hell even the xbox is pretty damn close to being a cable replacement. Netflix and Hulu.

thats how we do, netflix and hulu plus!

+1 although we ended up dropping hulu+ because there wasn't enough content. But yeah, we pay 70 for wicked quick interwebs and 10 for netflix and couldn't be happier (until football season).

You can get a refurb 360 from gamestop for 99 bucks. Something to keep in mind maybe.

You can use netflix on some cheap blueray/dvd players, and those TVs with apps now aswell. not sure if they support hulu or anything else cause I don't care ^^/ haha.

Hulu plus is good for new content. Kristen killed that. Plus our Netflix queue has 49 movies/shows in it. Were pretty happy. 15 bucks for shared Internet plus the 28 for hulu and Netflix I can't complain.
