So the title is from a website, nippon-motors.

probably going to shoot down there tom an pic up a motor..

.the only problem is i have no idea if that motor exists or not lol .

i did some quick searches and came up with nothing.

i was under the impression that the a6 was usdm/90-91 only.

i was also under the impression that a "ZC" was DOHC only?

if anyone would like to clarify that would be amazing

Thanks in advance.

There was many "ZC"s, and the A6 was from 88-91(at least in the US).
There's the DOHC ZC(similar to D16A/A1), SOHC ZC(similar to D16A6), and SOHC ZC VTEC(similar to D16Z6)

So what would the equivalent of the sohc non v-tec a6 be for 92-96? im guessing jdm, because this place doesn't deal in usdm motors.im just confused haha i know all D series will fit in my EF im just trying to get away with a clean daily driver that doesnt require a new harness and or a crap top of wiring. If i wanted the headache i would drop an h22a in it lol.

Also thanks for the quick reply.

having purchased over 50 ZCs in the last 10-12 years, that title would indicate to me that the engine is a JDM SOHC ZC, non_VTEC, OBD0 and they are just indicating that it is the same as the D16A6, which it basically is - it has a better camshaft and is around 118hp

Sounds good to me haha...guess they just leak down tested it and its good to go.I should be picking it up tom morning an hopefully done throwing it in tom night = D

Thanks for the reply

Also since its its going to be obd1 can i get away with just using my IM or am i going to have to convert it?

Use whatever IM you want. Only difference is the injectors, use your OBD0 ones w/resistor box or convert to OBD1 injectors and delete the resistor box.

I am currently trying to drop a dohc zc into my 90 honda civic dx, there was a non vtec sohc zc in the car before. I'v run into a couple small issues, and currently a lil stuck, I'm not gettin any power to my plugs, have new wires and plugs, so i kno my issue is in the dizzy, not entirely sure which dizzy i have, is there a certain one i should be using? or is the problem back in the ecu? Im usin the same ecu as the sohc with a converted plug to adapt to the extra cam, Im not much of a gear head, so I could use any help i can get.

OBD0 DOHC ZC uses a TD03U distributor - do you have the spark plug wires in the correct locations on the distributor? - the DOHC ZC is different from SOHC - #1 plug wire is at top - #3 at front of engine toward radiator - #4 at bottom - #2 at back toward firewall

hey man im tryin to put a d16a7 sohc vtec outta of a 96 hatch into my 91 si....what all will i need? can u help please? i believe i need the engine wiring harness and the ecu?
