Hey guys, I need to see what helps you guys sit down and really tear into something you need to get done. The problem I'm having is I have a lot of studying to do this week, and it's an interesting topic to me. But, when I have to read three 50-70 page chapters a day, and complete the worksheets, and tests for them, I lose my drive.

I might try some caffeine pills to see if that'll help, but I just can't keep going all day. Do you guys have any advice? Thanks in advance.
 
a pack of cigarettes. ill sit and chain smoke through a 400 page book in about 6-7 hours.
 
Eh.. lol, I quit that about 3 months ago, and where I'm at now, that isn't a feasible option.

Yeah, let me cheat on my Paramedic Pharmaceutical certification. Then let me move to where you live, and when you get hurt and are in pain, well maybe I'll just give you too much of some kind of medicine because I cheated and don't know what the hell I'm doing. That sounds like a great idea, cheat and put everyone's lives in danger, that I have to administer emergency care to.

You are in the member's lounge asshat, this is where off topic things get posted. You need to go back to elementary school learn to read and write, and then you need to look up the definition of integrity. Now get the hell off this site before someone smacks you with the ban stick.
 
Try diffrent kinds of music. Classical or Jazz maybe. Make sure any other eletronics are shut down.

but, if i really need to concentrate, i'll take what i need and go somewhere else. there are too many distractions at home.
go to a cafe, library, or just a park if the weather is good enough.

I have been listening to 50-60's Jazz lately (Frank Sinatra etc...) and that has actually helped quite a bit, haha...

Go to the library. Leave your phone, computer, and any other distraction at home.

I can't really pack up and go somewhere, that really messes me up. I have to be at home otherwise I'll find distractions. And as far as the no laptop thing, I have to use it for the exams for every chapter, but other than that it's turned off.

I did this once in college. It worked. Very well.

This^^^ is a HUGE no-go. I have two different drug tests for two different jobs. And both are zero tolerance and test for just about every pill on the market. Plus I don't like to take medicine unless I have to, and I couldn't get a prescription for that if I tried, because the Army would chapter me out, and when I reported it to the medical director, I wouldn't be able to keep my job as a paramedic either.

Caffeine, and lots of vitamins works for me. That paired with proper rest is when I get the most productive studying done.

Also, I'm with whoever suggested leaving the distractions behind and getting to a quiet place. See if you cant find a study room at a local library or something.
 
ahahaha I didn't read this until now, this noob is retarded. Energy drinks really do it for me. I found that I don't crash with Amp drinks like I did drinking only NOS. Sorry I didn't get back on at 4:30, Minecraft just kind of consumes your life once you get on. lol
 
aderrall is your only answer. caffeine will give you the jitters and wont let you focus. serious, if you take it, it will be a waste of time, then throw off your sleep schedule and just compound the problem.

go to the doctor and get a legit prescription for it.
 
caffeine slows people with actual ADD or ADHD down
just boost enough to overload the brain and make it go into limp mode, similar to what adderall does
