So I'm trying to do a head gasket oh a dohc zc motor and I cant seem to find the torqe specs to put it back together. Any help would be great thanks.

50 ft lbs works fine. That's what I torqued mine to. You didn't mention which DOHC ZC you have, they should all be the same though.

You can look up a 1989 Acura Integra D16A1 for specs on it - the 1989 Acura Integra gasket set works on the DOHC ZC. Or, D16A8/D16A9. Block is the same - also the D16A6 uses this block and calls out 49 ft lbs for the SOHC D16A6 head on this block.

I would recommend a Cometic head gasket. They cost right at $100 but are worth every penny. Be sure and use thread anti sieze or oil up the threads on the head bolts when you install them to ensure they torque correctly. Also, use the correct torque sequence for the bolts when tightening them. You should really get a Chilton or Haynes book for it - 1989 Acura Integra D16A1. The book will have all the information you need.

Cool thanks for the help in new to all this happen to know where I might be able to find one.

Repair manual for 1989 Acura Integra? Pep Boys has a pretty good selection - or any chain auto parts retailer. Also do a google search and try online.Cometic Head Gasket? eBay automotive or use google and search online. Ask around to be sure, but I think the D16 designator is the block and any D16 gasket will fit the ZC. I know the D16A6 is the same. I believe the one I put in the link above fits the ZC and is for sale.

DOHC ZC and SOHC D-series head gaskets are not the same - the ZC has some different bolt locations - DOHC ZC and 86-89 Integra D16A1 head gaskets are the same

I know the D16A1 & D16A8/D16A9 are the same. I would have bet the D16A6 falls into that too. Oh well, 3 of 4 eh, is not too bad!

What's different? There's only head bolts, two with alignment dowels and the oil passages. The water jacket is the same and cylinder spacing and such.

I know the port locations are a little different relative to intake and exhaust manifolds, while the stud locations are the same on the intake and exhaust, making manifolds non-interchangeable in most cases.
