fast hatch

hey guys, so I have a 92 hatch that I have extensively modded. Have a B20V and S80 tranny, Cold-Air, Full tein suspension, full apexi exhaust, Neptune tuned pushing 178 whp and 139 ft/lbs. My issue that I am having is trying to register the vehicle with smog. I also got pulled over recently (profiling pigs!!!) and was written up for emissions bypass systems and referred to the referee. How can i go about getting around this....any ideas? Live in California Bay Area btw. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you, Sean.

You cannot have that SUV motor in your car here in CA......no way around it. It sounds like you have been red-flagged and have to take it to a smog referee. You need to put a legal motor in there.

There are a few different ways to get a swap legal in CA but you are NOT getting a clear from a ref with that B20 stamped on the block. D-series is the cheapest way to get it cleared and then do as you please

thank you

Well I was thinking about setting up a temporary address in a county in CA which doesn't require their vehicle to pass smog checks as extensive as urban areas. I was looking at Placer, and El Dorado counties to see if this would be a viable option...

I don't know about a different county, but I lived in CA for a few years and I had my civic reg in south dakota. It was kinda nice I didn't have to deal with any state laws execpt the obvious ones like to loud of car so on and so forth. I moved furniture in AZ for and alot of those ppl did the same thing and never even been to said state they reg in they said they used a po box

that works as far as smog goes.. but not w/ the ref... swap a d series if u want to pass... what I've also heard is that u can just pay the fine and hope u don't get pulled over again
