Old lady likes to watch shit on youtube when i'm playing black ops
the trouble is it always tanks my speed, lots of lag

i have both the ps3 and the xbox wired to the router, and she is using wireless
not sure what i can do to fix it
i don't think my router has priority settings or bandwidth limits

i went through and assigned the xbox its own IP and did the port forwarding, but its still not cutting it.

turn off the wireless

tell her to use her cell phone

you might need to upgrade your connection speed. probably cost a little more, but would be worth it. I would also hard wire your xbox and ps3 into your modem rather than router. i have MUCH higher download speeds when i'm hard wired.

or you can just say, "bitch, get off the internet i'm killing zombies". :shrug2:

when all else fails.... there is always the cunt punch

dude, you can't cunt punch your own wife. thats how you get your dick cut off while you are sleeping.

she pays half the cable bill, and she doesn't have the webs on her phone lol
its bad enough if she gets disconnected from the wifi now i am automatically accused because i did the black magic with the port forwarding so i'm trying to mess up her youtubes

Disable youtube.com from the router. Then when she says something just say "I dunno, maybe they're down for maintenance"

i've come close to grabbing her laptop and throwing it against the wall, but i don't think thats an appropriate solution to the problem
and if i kill her, who's gonna make my dinner?

Ask her to drop the quality of the video. If she is streaming 720 nonsense that may help a bit.

Basically others have summed it up; buy more speed or get a router that has QoS.
Depending on what router you have, you can get DDWRT or Tomato on it.

I myself prefer Tomato and Ive seen places sale compatible wireless N (non simultaneous) routers for $20. I like the ASUS ones because theyre really easy to mod and are pretty cheap. I have two RT12-N in repeater mode in wireless G that blankets 5000sqft (2500sqft home). Wish I could switch to N for even more bandwidth and coverage, but alas some devices I have only support B/G.

wtf?

maybe you should spend some quality time with the wife at night instead of gaming/doing separate things.... i dunno
