Waterboarding

Seems like a good idea. Show people how exactly a professional waterboards someone. Smart. That being said, I showed the video to a friend and he said that guy was a complete bitch.

lets see how much of a bitch your friend is with water going into your nose and mouth at the same time, and you cant pinch your nose.

for some reason i always thought water boarding was holding you under water strapped to a board
who knew....
i would also think i could do 15 seconds, but there are obviously other factors involved

the only problem with the technique is that it produces false information
and the whole geneva convention thing

i don't want to sound like some liberal pussy, but i find the way american POW's were treated during ww2 to be absolutely repulsive and disgusting, and to think that americans would stoop to such levels is a little disheartening

i can see the whole "not stooping to their level" train of thought, but i dont know. when all hell breaks loose, i dont think anyone is going to play by the rules.

if you want to read about some f**ked up stuff, look up Unit 731. basically, cutting open POWs alive to exam the beating heart, injecting them with bacteria to observe how effective it is, etc...

My friend's been waterboarded. Stupid thing for college kids to do, but it happens.

DISCLAIMER: They are clearly not the brightest bulbs and often wonder themselves of how they got into college. But hell if I'm not glad that they're on my side.

^^LOL, i was just going to say someone is going to try this since the author was ranting about the rush he was experiencing.

i mean, my friends and i use to hold each others R/L carotid arteries until we passed out.. for stupid kids, it was freaking crazy. you'd "see the light" and your body goes into hyper mode trying to get blood o2 to your brain... (DONT try this. just an example of how stupid kids are).

id like to try getting water boarded... i just dont know that i trust any of my friends enough

:concur:

I would imagine that experience would change your perspective on fears in general. Boiling it down the the most basic of human instinct. I don't think to many of us have every experienced that. Aside from combat vets in some instances.

ive seen this done with an actual layer of plastic over the face, preventing any water from going in your body. not sure how that is effective, if the idea is to get your body to react to the presence of water in your airway.

I invented a new fusion activity called "water planking"

You see some douch-bag planking and then you throw a pitcher of ice water on them...

we used to do that in high school as well.
until i freaked out once. apparently.
we did it in class, trying to show some other students that over heard us talking about it.
so, my buddy did it to me.
i came to, looking at a room full of terrified faces, everybody was backing away and looked genuinely scared.

according to my friend, when i passed out, my eyes never closed, i hit the floor and started freaking out, not blinking and staring straight at him. he said i was shaking and reaching up clutching at him. basically, we think i had a seizure. not sure.
all i know, is that was the last time (out of the hundreds) that any of us did that again.
i had a killer fucking headache for the rest of that day.

Ahh yes the good ol pass out game. That is something I never partook in. The idea of cutting flow of O2 to my little brain muscle was never all that appealing to me.
