Just got my k20 swap put into my 2001 civic dx, huge upgrade from the d17 that it came with.

Now I'm looking for what mods/upgrades will give me the best performance boosts other than a turbo because I won't have the money for the turbo for a little while.

Just save for the turbo setup, and have it that much faster. There's no point in spending money to build up a motor N/A if you plan on going with boost later...

Usually means intake, header/exhaust, possibly a fuel rail, and then having it dyno tuned at a shop.

K-Pro will work for a variety of builds........so it is a very useful tool.

K-series react well to aftermarket camshafts. But decent gains means a higher stage cam which means better valve springs and an aftermarket tensioner (OEM won't hold with big lift cams). Now there are some drop in camshafts (no upgrade needed) made by a few companies but their gains are less than bigger cams (duh). IPS makes at least one set of drop in cams (K2's I think??) But they are pricey.......IMO they are one of the best if not the best camshafts for K-series (Drag Cartel are nice too). Stay away from Skunk2 (they did have issues with the grind and you had to use their cam gears to correct their mistake lol) Some people say to stay away from Blueprint and Blox too but I have no knowledge of their K-products.

But like eg6sir said.....K-pro is the best option and you need to have a Dyno Tuner set it up if you want max power. It would be silly to get camshafts before K-pro. Its like getting a big gulp from 7-11 and using a spoon to drink it.

A dyno tune usually takes 2.5-3.5 hours so $350-600 for a tune. Plus K-pro can be expensive. You got a PRB ECU right now? Immobilizer bypass? PRB is the best ECU for K-pro if you got the 6-speed transmission (reverse lockout).
