ooh, and newegg = 5.99 shipped and your site = 6.55 shipped... just sayin
but that site also has a timer for the cut off of when it will be shipped today, and color coded, will ship today, will ship tmw, etc.
good link, would probably be better if i needed more than 1, maybe i'll get 2 in case one of mine goes bad.

Yeah, and all employees at my office get the 20-49 price on everything on the site. I just use them cause they're cheaper than most people, and I know I'm not getting solderer by a monkey with parkinsons.

ok... whats a ferrite chip.
ahhh, used to suppress high frequency noise

so i suppose its better to have the knob goblins... i had assumed (incorrectly) it was less than top notch

Is the difference from a cable with ferrite chips to one without them actually noticeable?

so the ones that have the ferrite cores are actually lower quality products (generally 28 gauge wiring). The ferrite helps clean up any noise that might occur from close proximity of high gauge wiring. You dont need them on the lower 24 gauge stuff because they dont bleed as bad.

The ferrite is helpful for shorter higher gauge wires. In low gauge wires its not needed, and high gauge long run, it can actually filter the signal, so you'll want to avoid 28 gauge in anything over a 10' run (25 max from the sensible videophile contingent, and some devices might have problems with the signal strength at this distance).

Hopefully that answers your question. If you're buying a 6ft 28gauge, get the ones with the ferrite cores.

go to monoprice for cables. even newegg's markup is pretty high on hdmi cables. most of the wires in my house were obtained via monoprice. 6ft cables are 3.50 and come in loads of other colors:

For only $2.88 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 6ft 28AWG High Speed HDMI Cable w/Ferrite Cores - Black | 28AWG HDMI High Speed Certified Male to Male Cables

Ahhh.. Beat me to it. This is the best site, and every single HDMI cable I have in my house is one of these. I can't tell the difference between these cables and the 80+ dollar monster ones.

just wait a few days and they will be $1 shipped again on 1saleaday

I know. they do it like once a month. buy a set for recked, he probably won't see this before its too late, and i'm paypal'ed out for the month

got mine today, they only shipped me 4... wondering if i should bother pressing them for the 5th lol
