i am putting an obd1 ready b16 in my 91 hatch and the wiring harness that the guy gave me is a clusterf***. He said he had to convert it from dpfi to mpfi. but the wires that go to the injector plugs are not consensent at all! It just looks like a shitty stereo install. Im sure there are many threads over this so can anyone tell me what i need to do or is there any diagrams out there that will show me the proper way to wire this? thank you

you can probably hit up rywire for a diagram.

Its fairly straight forward though..

I would Unravel the mess and rebuild the harness to your liking.

This draws a picture for you as well... ;)

alright thanks. I did some reserch on the dpfi to mpfi and it looks like i can do it. I can tell kind of what the guy did to the harness now. Once it is set up for mpfi all i should need is an obd0 to 0bd1 ecu jumper to run the b16 correct?

No. The harness and motor will not match. Unless I misread your post and the harness you have is for the OBD1 B16 in a OBD0 car. You were not specific except for claiming it "he said"

You can do a variety of mod's that entail soldering new plugs (cuz your OBD0 plugs wont match the OBD1 swap) It will take experience and some research on your part.

Or.....do what many do......get a engine harness from Rywire. It will not be cheap but it will be done right and you won't have to fish for some solder connection that may have come undone.

what if i buy a stock engine harness like out of a del sol or integra that is obd1? everything would hookup as far as the engine and ecu, would it hook up to the chassis plug?

engine to chassis wont fit
and plugs at ECU would need the jumper harness.

You need a combo of an 88-91 Si harness and a OBD1 B series harness.....they need to be mated together.....thats why its difficult and many will buy a harness from a reputable company.
