i have a jdm d16z6 that ive had in my car for about 3 years and i just noticed that i put 28,000 miles on it, and it subposably came with 20 to 60,000 on it. I just picked up a t3 turbo and am peicing together the setup, is that too many miles on my engine to turbo my dailey driver on no more than 8 lbs of boost and i dnt plan on makin more that 220 hp to the wheels. the only internal mod im gonna do is arp headstuds. thanks

thats what im gonna do before it goes on in a few months just wondering in general, it runs great! and im easy on it but ur right ill kno more later on

if the motor is healthy and you dont get greedy it will be fine. of course get it dyno tuned!

there is no jdm z6, maybe a sohc zc vtec. Do a leak down test/ compression test, if you beleive its heatlthy then go for it. Neptune is overkill on power goal/ but it all depends your tuner access and what they tune with. Neptune is great for tracks but it is also great for DD but for the power goal in my own opinion is overkill.

neptune is great, you will love it. for any boosted setup you need a real tuning solution like hondata or neptune. a compression test is always a good idea.

if you want to keep it as a reliable DD don't turbo it
you're gonna get hooked on the power and start breaking things

i think it will be good if you up your injectors to 450cc to 550cc but stay away from the blue top dsms.also think about a cometic head gasket we havent seen one yet come back to the shop blown with head studs.get a mild base map with turbo options to the pounds you want, and maybe a block guard wont hurt to be safe.
i myself am running a 60trim precision,44mm tial wg,and hks bov with 550cc rc injectors with a stock ls/vtec motor and only head gasket and head studs used and mine was dynoed at 358hp at 15psi no probs. just a little insite. hope i helped

sonds good thanks guys and instead of makin a new post im doin alot of research and some people say stock internals in a d are only good till 160 to 180 hp and some say 250 to 275, im kinda worried about my internals. will they be ok with a goal of only 200 whp?

i have a t3 .42 .48 from a saab or a volvo and my parts arnt going to be crappy ebay stuff but the only thing i planned on doin internal was head studs.

with that turbo idt you will have a problem but with turbo good idea to do head studs and head gasket also dont think you can get away with doing a tune.one thing i can tell you dont chince out on good parts with turbo one mall think can be game over

MANIFOLD are ok but depends on if its cast or steel, cat blox is great for your application if you have 200+ or even a cheaper steel.make sure the intercooler isnt to big

ok thanks and that is what i meant it is a jdm sohc zc same as z6

The JDM SOHC ZC is the same as the a6 not Z6 i believe. I have the same setup almost. SOHC ZC block, with the z6 vtec head. The SOHC ZC are non-vtec unless you did a mini me swap (aka z6 head)

If you have any questions about where to go with your build on this motor feel free to shoot me a messsage, My build made 296whp on a stock head at 21 psi.

i think it will be good if you up your injectors to 450cc to 550cc but stay away from the blue top dsms

Why? I used to use them, and never had an issue with my build. Granted i upgraded to 1000cc's but until then, the blue tops sufficed.

Your main concern are the stock rods, they arent known to be reliable up around the 200hp range. If you plan to drive this car as your daily, it would be in your best interest to drop the coin and get internals (rods/pistons), both for the piece of mind and wallet down the road. The last thing you'll want is a rod out the side of your block.

i was thinking about vitaras and eagle rods, is there any machining required or is it just a drop in, i kno the block would need knotching but i mean boring or anything?

No, the vitara/eagle combination is one of the most common d series builds. Its more or less a drop in. I did upgrade to arp rod bolts and had to have the rods machined so the bolts sat better but its not necessary with the bolts included. Its the stock bore, but i recommend a nice hone job. The tool is somewhat cheap from a parts store if you choose to do it yourself.
