p28 in a d16y5??

First of all here is my setup:

D16y5 motor
K&N CAI
Ractive 4-2-1 Headers
Vibrant 2.5in axleback with a hollowed out cat.

So ive done ALOT of reading on this topic. I have a chipped p28 to my (d16y5) but in my reading i guess the vtec engagement needs to be between 2500-3000 i told the guy who did the chip to do 3700. ANYTHING on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Im just looking for options. HX enthusiasts HELP!!! What are my tuning options?

It's a VTEC-E engine; raising the engagement point will actually kill performance.

Why not just run the stock ECU?

Like K2 said its VTEC "E" ... seems pointless to tune an ECU for this motor..

The best advice i can give you with your hx. Listen up:

1. Get a ex trans

if you really want to fool around with your car, contact delta for a cam re-grind.

Raise the compression a bit with different piston like say pm6 or pg6, along with the cam/cam gear, ex trans. You'll have a fun daily driver.

If you don't want to do all that just replace the trans.

I was already thinking of getting the ex tranny. About how much generally do you think it would cost to replace a tranny?

you need a transmission? 350 wow. I normally do it for 200 on civics.

Yes i do. I just ordered it last friday and it should be her by sometime this week.

The y5 won't like the p28 maps...

I hope whoever did your chip have any clue that a y5 uses 190cc injectors and I hope it was change. As far as vtec engagement, I set mine to 2800rpm.

Im pretty sure that it was set to the 240 cc injectors. I had no clue that they were the 190cc

they are 190cc, obd2 ex 240ccc, z6 ex 240cc. If you need injectors let me know or have him adjust it to 190.

Also obd2a to obd1 jumper is not exactly made for hx with 5 wires primary and 4 wires secondary. Make sure you use the 4wires secondary, you going to have to jump the wire to secondary.

I might need those injectors. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the harness thing. I'm not familiar with that.
