I may be getting one as a first street bike. Story goes - I was given a really nice, old, Kubota tractor. I have no use for something this big on my 2 acres. My buddy has the NX, and wants to trade it +cash for my tractor.

The bike is an 88', has 22k on the clock, small dent in tank, and scratched right fairing. Other than that, clean. 650cc air cooled thumper, 44hp, 40 torque. It's basically a dual sport with a fairing. I had other bikes in mind, but this one seems to be falling into place. Thoughts on the NX as a 1st street bike, commuter, and occasional 100 mile ride bike?

that was my first bike back in the day but mine was a 250, and man i loved it if i can find one for a good price i will have it.

on/off road bikes are great. i really like the look of that one. check out the yamaha xt series, they are about the same and have high availability of parts.

is the 125,250,and 650 the only way they came ?
I think only 250 and 650 in the US market

that would make it a no go for me
Yeah... I did a search for replacement parts at work. Mechanical stuff can be found. No fairings, or even foot pegs are left in the warehouse. People part them out on ebay all the time though.

Sweet bikes! I wish Honda would have continued to develop the adventure bike in the US. I want to stay within Honda because of my job though.

Yea you could be right. I am picking up the tractor this weekend. The bike is in seriously good shape though.

you're gonna miss that tractor.

I got the tractor today:ph34r: The thing dwarfs my civic. The thing is a god damn animal too. 4 cylinder, water cooled diesel, 4wd, runs like a top. I mowed my yard in no time with the thing. Pretty awesome for free, even if it is a 1990 with 1800 hours on it.

I ended up trading the Kuboda for another tractor and the NX. So far it's worked out in my favor - the hydrostat pump went out on the guy I traded with:ph34r: This weekend I rode it from Marysville to Akron (120ish miles) I took back roads and made several stops. It was awesome.
