Looks like this is going to be the first big one of the year.

Looks like the Carolina's are going to take the brunt of the hit. Will only be a cat 1 by the time it gets up here.... which is nothing really. a bad thuderstorm more or less.

supposed to be cat 1, by the time it hits MD, i bet itll be even lower by the time it gets up there

down here in florida all the marinas are shut down, every boat that can get hauled out is out of the water. people down here are generally very prepared. it looks like this one is going to turn north, but if you live on the coast you gotta be ready almost anywhere in the eastern US.

looking at the satellite images right now, it looks like shes heading right towards S florida. We will be happy when we see it actually turn north. they say we are going to feel some minor effects from it, the most damaging just being very high surf.

someone should hurry up and build a city below sea level.

If Martha's Vineyard gets hit does that mean Obama hates white people?

only if he flies over in a helicopter laughing while eating fried chicken while they are starving and dehydrated.

In palm beach right now and the waves and wind are picking up. Pretty gray looking out. About to go get some sushi.

Fly back into md on Saturday night. Sounds like it's going to be a pita.

I live in the Carolina's.... oh well. At least I don't stay at the beach. :)

There goes my beach vacation; it's actually Labor Day weekend but I'm sure they'll be rebuilding by then. Though, I do have to worry about the huge pine tree on the side of my house....

it has been raining on and off all morning. its breezy, and when the bands come in the gusts get strong, but nothing serious maybe 40mph. and im right on the water, its probably not much inland. glad we got spared down here.... good luck to you guys up north!

latest track has it dying out in the sound to a tropical strom.

the real threat at this point is the moon (new on sunday), + high tide + land fall all meeting at the same point. NYC is going to get flooded most likely.

They are calling for 4-15" of rain here, with more wind east, more rain west of Danbury (ct/ny line)

So, i'm expecting moderate winds and rain somewhere in the middle... 8-10.

4" is a lot of water and basically puts everything to flood stage. I can't fathom 10" of rain.

My driveway very well may get washed out.

im counting on it being little more than a heavy rain storm with some decent winds
flooding will be localized to the low areas that flood out in anything more than a modest rain anyway
some trees will lose branches just like in any other rain/wind storm

:shrug2:

not giving a single fuck
